November 7th, is Thompson's last race of the season, so I took the day off, and am hoping for good weather. It's a Saturday, and I think I'll even go to breakfast before.

So clean your car, empty your gas tanks, and meet me at the track (or for breakfast :) ).

Hummm....
Breakfast at the Waffle House sounds good, and I just might 'bring on' the 17second Imp.

Ok, so it's only the 1st of November, we'll still be there next week, but BP and I couldn't wait.
Since the weather was so nice we went racin'. I have a new best ET 13.17. My best speed today was 104.66.
I tried shifting manually, it took 4 passes to convince me that the computer in sD does the job much better.
BP also improved his mumbers, 12.51 at 105.5.
We both went into the gamblers race and we were out in the first round.
I had an .08 light against a .05 light and lost by .04 to a 11 second car. BP just touched the red.

Not many folks there today, but as always, it was great fun at TRP.

See you on the 7th!

How did that black Chevelle stage with his front wheels in the air??

I started out my trip to TRP by having my dipstick tube break off completely, right at the block. Knowing that I had oil, I got out my trusty tube of black RTV, and filled the hole so I could race.

I'm glad I did too, as I had a lot of bests today. Best ET (12.51), best 60' (1.67), best MPH (106). All this without doing anything different to the car. The temp was around 50 deg, so it could still be a little cooler. Maybe a 12.4x could still happen this year...

Mine sits in the garage with front wheels in the air all the time.

Not sure what I'll bring to run this Saturday. The "V" or the "Truck".
I think I'll wait and see how good the weather really is.
Anyone else with a vehicle that could be a good challenge for my 16.20's 16.30's truck?

If you were closer, I'd give you a fair go at the Explorer.

I think your right, one second would make for a close run Mark. See you at breakfast.
Hey Maverick, just for comparison, Big Red's best 60' was 2.44, its' 1/8 mile was 10.56 seconds at 66.95 mph.
My best reaction with the truck was a poor .18 seconds on a .00 perfect system.
Put that Explorer on the track and get some numbers.
Also my 1999 Eldorado ran a best 14.54 at 94.96 in Oct. 2002. Usually ran high 14's and low 15's.
The 1/8 mph was not working at that sesion but its' 1/8 ET was 9.41.
Racing a Cadillac draws a lot of attention at a dragstrip, try it, you'll like it.

Don't know if we told you but when WXO last ran the 1/8th my son and I also took the Explorer to get some numbers and have some fun. I paid the $5 entrance fee and got a number but it was so crowded I didn't get in line. WXO only got one run before he gave up too. We'll try again but arrive at the track earlier next time.
