I have noticed that when you click on a thumbnail image on this website, it displays a very large image that contains scrollbars and takes a long time to display. I also discovered that if you click on the large picture, it then scales the image back to a reasonable size for normal viewing. I think it should just simply do the latter and forget the first display. I also noticed that the little plus sign is missing from the pictures which makes me think that there have been changes to how this works. Anyone else seeing this?

All of this image displaying/processing is handled by postimage.org, which I have zero control over. With that said...

It seems to initially scale the pictures to 1024x768, and once the picture is loaded, clicking a 2nd time will re-scale it to the size of your browser window. My desktop is quite large at 1600x1200, so I don't notice it much. The reason the pics take a little bit to download is that most pictures from any decent camera (3 megapixel or greater) is that the files are 2MB (or more) each. You're downloading the entire 2MB+ for each picture you click on.

What you might try is this: when uploading the picture, there's a drop down box to select image re-sizing. 1024x768 should be adequate for most stuff and should significantly reduce the file size.

I can guess postimage must have upgraded their software. Its free so no complaints here.
