Best catalytic converter?

Post by MostMint »

So I need opinions about the best aftermarket catalytic converter. By best I mean best flow and still be emissions legal/not trip codes.

Cursory study on Summit website tells me that Pacesetter might have the best flow but I am looking for opinions. It's twice as expensive as the magnaflow and I wonder what extra I get for my $.

I need a new one since I'm bumping the diameter from 2.5" to 3".

Or should I say second best? Hollowed out converters do not count.

I'll be searching the web too.

I have heard that the "hi performance" converters are no different than the stock ones in some cases. I talked to Greg at Cars of the Past about it one time. He said he had some hi performance ones a guy bought and they had the same part number on them as the run of the mill ones did. Run straight pipes & an o2 simulator and feel the power!!!
