Mini project - toolbox

I bought a small bottom tool box to go under my work bench in the garage. Sadly, I didn't take any before pictures (but I may be able to get the picture from work). The box was all greasy from being in a shop for years, but otherwise was in great condition. Yesterday I tore it all apart, degreased and scrubbed it down during the hard rain, and let it dry overnight. Today after the meet, I primed and painted it (as seen in the pictures). This week I'll clean up the handles, take off the wheels, and put it in its resting place. My total investment is just about $60, and it should look like new.

I finished reassembling the tool box tonight. I did find the before picture at work today. I'm really happy with the outcome. Looks like a new box, for under $60.

A Kennedy Tool box for $60. Almost priceless.
Love that HGRINC.com web site.

After finding a second Kennedy box and duplicating the project from above, I found a cool old Craftsman tool box from work. I just did a quick clean and spray paint job. This will be a working tool cart so I didn't want to go crazy, but for as old as it is, it's in good shape. Total investment, about $22.

Here's another toolbox that I refurbed. I have about $17 and a few hours into this one. This one rolls around, I also added a brake on it to keep it still. It's not quite as nice as it looks in the pictures, but for the money, I don't feel bad throwing crap on it, in it, or around it.

It started out blue. I pressure washed the crap out of it so most of the blue paint came off. Then I painted it red again.

It needs a huge "Esso" sticker right in the middle of it.
