I went out to Dragway 42 today. Armed with my new 42 lb/hr injectors, I came hoping to find my lost ET and MPH.
The weather was perfect. Could've been a little cooler, even. I got in 11 passes, and could've easily taken more. It's the first time in a long time it's cost less than $1 per pass! ($10 entry)
I made all passes on slicks (15psi), with the exhaust closed on the first pass.
The good news is that my MPH is back. I'm also solidly back in the 12s, with a .98 and two .94s.
The first two passes I made were with the tune that Mark and I setup a couple weeks ago. I made some changes to the top rows, 95kpa and 100 kpa, from the 2900 RPM column all the way up. I also adjusted the acceleration enrichment (pump shot) and it's really responsive now. I took datalogs of the first 7-8 runs, so I have some good info to go through.
The 60-foot times are somewhat inconsistent -- 1.81 to 1.88. I'm staging at 2200-2300 on my tach, and it flashes to about 2900 off-the line. So I think I need to consider more careful tuning in that area of the map. I think the gains to be made at this point are in the mid-range -- 2400 to 3600. The eighth mile times are too inconsistent as well.
So, at the end of the year, I'm slower by a tenth versus than the Performer RPM/750 Holley from 2004. but similar MPH. But I have a setup that is both homebuilt and cutting edge, as well as more drivable. I love it.
