Your choice of crappy 1-ton truck, standard or dually, for ~$1000 with 454.

I almost wish I had $1000 -- but the last time I parted out a truck in the winter, bad things happened.

I'm kinda thinking that '90 might have a 700r4 in it.

The OD trans is that '90 has a code designation, but I cant think of it. It's basically a th400 with an OD from what I understand.

The '74 is in Euclid. I can look at it after work if anyone is really interested.

I wanna buy it just because it seems like a good deal, but there are so many other things I need to spend money on first.

4L80E is the code. It is a Turbo 400 w/ OD.

The 4l80e is right for the newer electronic HD OD transmission, I thought there was a different trans for the older vintage. There's a chance that in '90, that there was still no OD in the HD trucks. I know the 454SS trucks didn't have OD until late in the production run (94ish).

What could it cost, an extra hundred or two? I spent more on dumber things.
But really probably not. Since there are so many people with trucks I doubt I'll be driving this year anyway.

I need another vehicle like a hole in the head as it is.
