'89 Firebird Formula 350 anyone?

I just talked to the mother of the neighbor kid who bought my Formula. She wants her garage back and is going to talk to her son about selling the car. At one time I heard some inquiries about this car and I wonder if there is still any interest if it all comes down.

I would love to have it, but there's one too many Firebirds in my life already right now.

Tiresmoker? A new daily driver?

Walt,

What condition is it in? Does it need anything? Any idea how much it might be?

Not sure of the condition. It's been garaged for years with the corresponding decay that naturally occurs. When I get the word that it is definitely for sale, I'll check out the condition and pass it on. Same for the price. Anyone know what a good running Bird of this vintage is worth these days?

Interesting page on that car:

I dig the GM ad :)

I've seen them go for anywhere between $1500 and $4000 for a decent used one. Most of it is mileage or body condition, both of which are unknown at this point. I could see the Rookie in this one as an inexpensive toy.

Too many horses in the stable at the moment.

I'd definitely have to consider it depending on the price. I do have time off during the holidays...

I doubt if the information on this car will be available anytime soon. The Son doesn't live at home and it will take some time before the information filters back to me. I'll post when available.

I just spoke to my neighbor and my old Pontiac is for sale for $1000.00!!!
I don't know the current condition of it. I will find that out later this week.
It sounds like a great deal to me.
Here's what I remember:
It has over 100k miles (not sure of the exact number).
It has shorty headers on the 350 that are wrapped for heat conservation.
It has SLP intake runners and a SLP cold air box and a K&N air filter.
It has T-Tops.
The 700R4 trans has been rebuilt during it's lifetime.
I think it ran around 14.80s at Thompson.

For Aale

Hey Walt-

Sounds like you should buy it, then re-sell it, in spring! 8)

Sounds too good to pass up. I can't wait to see how the ol' gal aged over the last few years.

For $1000, I'd definitely be interested -- and if Walt says it is in good enough condition, I'd say I'd buy it for sure... Not sure how I missed this thread the past few days.

Well, remember that I haven't owned this vehicle for years and I cannot vouch for it as it is today. Be sure to think in terms of "as-is" if you get seriously interested in it.
