Throttle solenoid

Post by wxo »

Since I know that this group has a treasure of old parts squirreled away, I have a request for a part. I want to add a throttle solenoid to the Holley on my truck to bump up the idle when the AC is turned on. Any old throttle solenoids in your parts?

Do you need a bracket to mount it to the carb?

How about a whole carb?

This is a Ford carb - the blue tag says Motorcraft. Not sure what the application was. It was at Canfield with a $25 price but it did not sell. It's nice and clean. I figured it would be worth a lot more if I figured out what it came from, but never made it around to it.

So what's Walt's price? Free + shipping I would guess.

I don't have a use for the carb. I'm running a spreadbore intake and my Holley is doin' just fine, thanks.
I thought maybe Andy could bring the solenoid and bracket to Carlisle and we could finish our business there. How much do you need to get for the solenoid and bracket, Andy?

Will it bolt on to the spreadbore?

Take a look at how it is attached to the carb it is on. Does your carb have bolt holes there? If you think it will work I'll bring it.

Price? Cheap.

I don't know if it will attach to my Holley or not. I'm assuming I will be able to use the bracket with modification or if nothing else use it as a pattern to make a bracket that will mount the solenoid. I don't expect it to bolt right up.

Cheap is good! :D
