Nice. I understand the 4.0 is almost indestructible.
Select-Track?
(I'm still drawn to the '99-'04 Grand Cherokees)

Perhaps you should name it Kituhwa, after the first Cherokee city, or something else related to the Cherokee.

I just found it today. I will pick it up tomorrow night.
I'm not absolutely sure about the type of 4x4 it has, but I know that the Selec-Trac is very rare. I believe this one is the Command-Trac (Part time 4x4, no dry pavement use). The three pedal models are hard enough to find let alone trying to find one with Selec-Trac. I have seen some write-ups where guys have converted the Command-Trac to Selec-Trac. Maybe that will be in the future.
As far as engine durability goes, if this one is anything like the 2.5 liter four banger in Nellie Belle, I'll be happy. That little thing goes screemin' down the highway at 3 grand without a whimper and always comes back for more.
Someone's gonna get one good little Jeep. Maybe I can get Fred to sign my fan shroud on the new one. (He'll know what I'm talkin' about).
I don't know about those Indian names, Andy. Too obscure for my simple mind. The naming usually comes with use and time of ownership as the personality comes out.
I guess a trip to Carlisle will be a good road test for this new one.

I don't usually name my cars or tractors, so I am probably not much help there anyway.
Sounds like a nice work Jeep. And I can't see anyone shaming you out of Carlisle with a Jeep. Glad to see you picked it over that RAV4 thingy.

Looks like a really great find. Love the color. It will be neat to see it in Carlisle.

OK, I can't get off the Indian name thing. You have heard of Sitting Bull and Dances with Wolves - how about "Shifts with a Rod" or something like that?
Really I doubt you will go for it but I stil wanted to share it.

OK, since this is an indian vehicle, how about "Chief Three Pedals" or maybe just the indian brave "Three Pedals". Grins.

The one hitch in y'all's logic is that all my vehicles have three pedals. How would I tell them apart?

Well lets see. None of the others are Cherokees so they should have regular names.
Or you could name them five gears, four gears. You have the Ford pickup and the new Cherokee. What else is there? Are you keeping Nellie Belle?
There's really not much logic in this whole thing anyway. Worst case you could name them all "three pedals" like George Foreman named all his kids George.

They all have three pedals and five gears. Ok,Ok, to settle this I guess I'll just have to come up with a name. I call the truck
"Ol' Blue". How about "New Blue" for the Jeep?
