Hypothetically speaking, would I get kicked off this forum if I buy a Toyota RAV4?

Is there anything we can do to save you?
Can it make tire smoke?
This might require a poll

As long as it's the new Rav4 with the V6, I might forgive you. Last test I saw it was a 14 second vehicle.

Hmmm. When we go to Corvette Carlisle you can leave it at the motel.

OK, OK, OK!!

I was just testing the water to see where the boundaries are.
I am looking for Cherokees between 1995 and 2001 or 4Runners between 1990 and 1995 with three pedals on the floor.
No Grand Cherokees, no V8's, no automatics.
Gotta have no rust, pw,pdl, AC, and low miles
Must be one somewhere

The search is on!
Well it's not a Jeep, but it still has warranty,

I'll keep looking.
No Grand Cherokee ??

Why no Grand Cherokees?
Oh, I know, these aren't available with three pedals.
My bad.
Personally, I find the '99 - '04 (WJ) rather appealing.
The right '04 'Special Edition', with the 4.7 could possibly replace the AV.
New requirements

Up to now, I've been thinking in terms of a basic 4WD Jeep that would replace my beloved Nellie Belle. I just wanted a little newer, less miles, AC,CC, PDL and Power windows. Something that I can carry my tools and stuff to Wheels4Hope and drive up to Nine's from time to time and have a good time in 4WD crawling around lookin' for parts. So Randi says "you should get something a with a little more comfort so that it would be used as a backup family car for longer trips". Yikes! So I sez "what's wrong with the comfort factor in Nellie Belle"? I fixed the holes in the floor and put the carpeting back in. I even got the stink out. Soon as I get the parking brake to hold, she'll be a high class ride.

What you really need are some "Grand Cherokee" emblems for that finishing touch.

Ready for Carlisle

Sounds like Nellie Belle is ready for Corvette Carlisle.
Not everyone can say that about their rides.
She would give you great mileage.
Maybe not as much fun as Old Blue's 460.
Carlisle Ready!

Try this. It's only money and it would make it to Carlisle in style and haul parts.

Love spending other people's money.

I'm beginning to think I'm a dinosaur. Manual transmissions are very hard to find in this neck of the woods. Maybe I should look at RAV4s. Fugetaboutit!
As far as Carlisle goes. I'm not ruling out Ol' Blue. There are some disconcerting noises coming from the engine compartment. I need to take some time to figure out what's going on. It may just be a noisy idler pulley.
I also need to tweek the valve adjustment. I'm getting a little ticking.
Meanwhile I'm beating the bushes for Cherokees, 4Runners and Pathfinders.

I'm not quite there yet, Matt. I have a friend, Jim, who Fred knows, who is trying to get me offroad. He keeps sending me all these websites like the video I posted a few days ago. It won't be long before I get Nellie Belle dirty.
