Thanks for the invite John, and thanks for the add fellas in the admin team. It’s been a while since I’ve used a forum but I think I’ll be able to handle it.
A few years back I had 97’ gmc with a 454, 5 speed, extended cab 8’ bed. Wife insisted I “deserved” a nice new truck. Enter the 15’ gmc with a leather dashboard just in case. Ended up replacing the tranny, then it got stolen. Insurance paid out well so I got a 17’ GMC. Its transmission went so I limped it to the dealership and walked out with a 25’ ram. I hate the 25’, so much so that I gave it to my wife who loves it. Definitely a girl truck. I use a truck as a truck and that thing squatted to the ground with my golf clubs in the bed. Not to mention I know how to drive but the technology in the thing constantly reminded me to put my brakes on. Dumb.

Long story longer I gave my self a strict budget, bought an 86 C10 with a laundry list of things to fix on it and I’m having a blast. First thing I did was return it to factory ride height by replacing all the shocks and springs. Whoever lowered it was either on drugs or should be taking drugs. Here’s a few “before” pictures.

Welcome to Tiresmoke! That pinion angle was a mess, yikes. Looks like a solid truck, though. This is gonna be your daily?

Welcome to the crew, Jonathan! ( I’ve known this man since the 90’s. ) Best of luck
with your new truck! Good choice over a new one!

Looks like a cool, running driving project truck. Are there specific plans for this, or just to have a cool old truck to monkey with?
