Hockenheimring seemed quite familiar to me though I just bought it in iRacing. Must have been on it at some point in the past. Only 6 cars. Was able to hang with the lead pack for a while but eventually lost the draft. Still managed to hold my P4 spot so it was a decent result.

Up next is Crandon (dirt road course) with some type of super truck at 7:30 PM. It'll be my first race on dirt road course

With only 4 competitors Crandon had more action that I was expecting. Racing trucks on dirt is a fun challenge, and I managed to not finish last and grab another post race interview.

Up next is race 1 of 2024 ChampCar iRacing Series at Road Atlanta on Wednesday evening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYBNJwVtCSI

I qualified P5 (of 20) in the practice race but got dumped on lap 2. I can't have great expectations for this race due to the probability I'll get wrecked by someone (2 practice races so far in 2024, got wrecked in both), but in the last one I ended up last relatively early, and still recovered to P7.

Up next is ChampCar iRacing Series at Spa on Wed 2/21 https://www.youtube.com/live/j0yw2IAewE ... RpEfhGI2DZ

Road Atlanta is not my best track, and this showed when it came time for that race. The matter was further complicated when 54 cars showed up and we only have 20 minutes to qualify. I only managed a P39 starting position. It didn't help that again I got punted in the early stages and lost a lot of track position. At least it was a low speed corner and no damage came from it. At one point I started pushing too hard to catch someone, went a bit wide in turn 5 and the extra pavement there caught me and turned me into the wall. I was able to nurse it to the pits to do a fast repair. Still with the wide skill level of drivers in this league I was able to improve to finish P29.

Bark River was a blast. I only practiced a couple times and it helped since this is the most technical dirt road track on the service. Somehow the other guys in my qualifying heat made too many mistakes and let me get to the front and so I won my qualifier and got P1 for the race. They are all at least a second a lap faster than me but the heats were short so too much messing around and I win. This meant I sat out the consolation race. During the actual race I led the first three laps. Adam tried to pass me once but he wasn't alongside and I stayed on my line so he had to back off or run out of track. Eventually they quit racing each other and after a few got by I made a couple minor mistakes which cost me one spot so I ended up P6.

Spa race with ChampCar iRacing started with me getting wrecked in T1 lap 1, then another crash going down the hill where everyone just stopped because someone was driving a broken car slowly down the middle of the track, capped off with me short filling the car and needing a second pit stop. There was some good racing in the middle lol. Qualified P18 ended P27 on lead lap about 1:43 behind the leaders

Up tonight is XSLR - we are racing the super trucks at Irwindale figure 8. Will need a pit stop and damage model is off. coverage starts around 8:10 PM https://www.youtube.com/live/bnVUKBOuos ... J6lvW1Yu-g

It's hard to be serious about this but its better than watching TV.

Eldora with the sprint cars did not produce the same kind of interesting racing that the trucks did on the dirt road courses. I have to learn how to get better on the starts, manage the wing adjustments as the track changes, and be able to manage a pass. I was keeping up with P4 until I tagged the inside wall with just a couple laps to go.

Also I raced last Thursday with Spec-5 at Road Atlanta. Replay: https://www.youtube.com/live/DDu_3OBVrL ... 3_zYDh7vvo The setup is looser than ever and I'm not particularly good at Road Atlanta but it was something to do on a Thursday evening. Leaders were a few seconds short of getting another lap which had a good chance to improve my outcome. I purposely took an extra lap of fuel since I wasn't in contention.

Up next is ChampCar iRacing Series at Laguna Seca with the Renault Clio on Wednesday evening. Coverage start at 9:20 PM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6ojI1N4Esw

After an improbable win on the dirt the prior weekend, on Saturday 3/30 I participated in a 4+ hour iRacing endurance race with a new team called sLowered Expectations. I'm 3rd in driver order for this event. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w75OaH6ujmk
