Crutchfield will have a kit to upgrade it. You can’t be the only one with this problems.

Upgrades!

So we are a week into our trip and I can't imagine a better car for this. We liked my dad's Z4 during our drive home from Florida last year, but that was a much shorter trip (3-4 days). We had thought about using it, but the lack of interior room for a small cooler, snacks, etc wouldve been a problem. This car has proven to be comfortable, roomy, sporty, and just all around great to drive! We have two suitcases, two camping chairs, and some other misc stuff in the trunk with room to spare. I'm really curious if the two suitcases would fit in a Camaro trunk.

I'm averaging over 23 MPG for the trip, and there's been plenty of shenanigans on lonely roads. Had a high of 29 mpg on a freeway segment in the Dakotas, and that was running at 80mph. (very flat too).

I'll get some pics posted soon.

We were only in Cheyenne a few hours, butbut was pretty eventful.. we bought some pretty sweet hats at the Wrangler store. I was tempted to call Fred to see if he needed any boots because they had a whole herd of them. We stopped at the Cowgirl Museum, ate lunch, and then found the Big Boy in Holiday Park.

Last September we were in the exact same spot!

That building is an old train station where and they had a train museum there. Behind it is a Union Pacific rail yard.

Yes it was, but there wasn't much available when we were there. I went inside to ask if that was where the Big Boy and the 844 were stored, and a lady working there told me, somewhat rudely "they were locked up and you can't see them." ... oooookkk.. the weird thing was that we found the Big Boy in Holiday Park an hour later, sorta by accident. I had stopped at Advance Auto to buy a screwdriver (to change my temp tag), and as we pulled out, I saw it across the street. The lady at the museum said nothing about it being outside in a park!

There's only 8 of the original 24 of those things left, and I saw 2 of them on this trip. The other was at the Fournee Transportation Museum in Denver. Oddly enough, the one sitting outside in the park (#4005) which has been there since the 60s looked much better than the one in Denver, (#4004) inside a museum. This wasn't meant to be a railroad/railfan trip, but we sure stumbled across a bunch of stuff. More pics to come..

Was coming home the other morning and started hearing this thwaping-noise coming from the driver's front tire. Luckily I was only about a mile from the house when it started. I knew the tires were fairly worn, but I didnt see that I was nearing cords! I gotta get some tires pronto as I'm supposed to drive to Detroit for a work trip on Thursday.

Oil life is at 22%, I think. Just turned over 40k miles a few weeks ago. Might be time for an oil change.

It ran 12.64 @ 112 at KMS a couple weeks back too. Pretty amazing for a bone-stock car.

I put new tires on the Mustang a few days after the last post, Cooper Xeon 265-35-20, @ 40,517 miles. I had to make a trip for work and only had a couple days, so no research into these, just went for the first thing in my size. Also a 4 wheel alignment.

Yesterday at 41,607 miles, I changed the oil. 10 qts of Mobil 1 0W-20 and Motorcraft filter. I think I was supposed to use 5W-20, oh well. It should be fine.

50,284 miles, changed the oil today. Oil life was at 9%. 10qts of Pennzoil Full Synthetic 5W-20, Motorcraft FL-500S and STP SA90140 air filter. The old air filter looked really nasty, I must not have change it the last couple times or something. A lot of bugs in there. I have a new cabin air filter to install, and will rotate the tires this afternoon.

No other real update, this car keeps soldering on in daily driver duties in fine fashion.

Hahaha, i looked, but they didnt have one at AutoZone. K&N now sells cabin air filters too.. As it is, 10qts of oil, and oil/air/cabin filters were $122. Yikes.
