GMs EV plan is nuts!!

This seems insane to me.

No internal combustion engines means all plug-ins, no hybrids. Converting GMs market share to plug-ins means huge increase in generation capacity and grid expansions. Can't happen in 15 years. Either GM autos depend on fossil fuel generation and a huge grid expansion, GM changes course, or they lose a big part of their market.

Also, selling plug-ins into China doesn't help with CO2 emissions. China is building lots of coal-fired generating plants.

How does this make sense????

It doesn't make sense. The grid will be 15 years older and is already on the brink right now. You'll be charging your electric vehicle with a gas powered generator so you can get around. There needs to be a bigger plan.

The government will just tax more and build an improved grid.

Also if you look at the grid you will see huge spikes in demand during the day if people charge overnight a lot more KWH can go through the existing grid.
