Stumbled across this article/video. The guy makes a real simple adapter with some aluminum and velcro to turn an ordinary sander into a DIY vibrating cleaner (maybe not 'ultrasonic'). The results are interesting.

I wonder how much of the parts cleaner working so well is the CLR and how important the sander ultra-sonic-ness
is. Maybe just soaking in CLR will do the same thing? Either way, the parts were clean! Interesting.

Would have been WAY cooler if he would have done a comparison WITH and WITHOUT the agitation. Not exactly an ultrasonic cleaner, but still a cool idea.

Thinking more about this, if the sander was mounted to a rigid surface instead of being hung
from a rope with bunji cords, there would have been more agitation in the liquid adding to the
vibrational action. Somebody needs to make one of these to see if it really works!
