No fog-out last night. It was actually a really nice night. The air temps dropped with the sunset pretty quickly, but then seemed to stabilize as the night went on. I'm guessing low 60's. There were a ton of cars out there, which was cool to see, and a surprising amount of spectators too.
Fred, Dave, and I all decided to run Stock class as the car count was so high that they make the truck class wait until the 2nd round to start and that takes about another hour.
The long and short of it is that I was actually on my game last night and so was my truck. Three time runs got me two 12.26s and one 12.25. With the air getting a little cooler, I gave myself a little room for eliminations. Here's the round recap:

RD1: 12.23 Dial, 12.37 @ 98mph, .03 RT VS. 12.86 Dial, 12.97 @ 107mph .2353 RT Orange Hemi RoadRunner
RD2: 12.21 Dial, 12.41 @ 92mph .06 RT VS. 14.70 Dial, 15.24 @ 82mph .08 RT Polaris RZR Turbo 4 seat Side X Side (Rick from Hutter's)
RD3: 12.21 Dial, 12.21 @ 109.75mph .01 RT VS. 12.30 Dial, 12.34 @ 106mph .06 RT Hemi Charger SRT Black (He hit his brakes and so did I!)
RD4: 12.19 Dial, 12.23 @ 111.34mph .01 RT VS. 13.07 Dial, 13.09 @ 102mph .05 RT Mike's '68 Cutlass - I did tap the brakes, but barely
RD 5: BYE into finals
RD 6: 12.19 Dial, 12.20 @ 113.03mph .06 RT VS. 13.05 Dial, 13.09 @ 107mph RED LIGHT -.03, Joe's Red Stick Shift LS1 Trans AM

I was actually bummed out that Joe red lit as I would like to have run it out. He would have had to cut an .01 or .02 light to win. It was cool being the very last run of the night and so much fun hanging out. But win or lose, it was just plain fun.

Two more Wednesday night races left this year...

A fun night was had by all.. I left the house right at 5pm to head out and I still ended up sitting in line out on Sidley road for 15 mins waiting to get in. There was a ton of cars and spectators.. most ive seen on a Wednesday night in a long time.

I went 12.59 & 12.54 @ 106 in time runs. I'm having to lift quite a bit to get the trans to shift 1-2, but I was surprised I was that consistent. 60fts were very good, 1.71, 1.68, 1.72.

1st round came and I dialed a 12.50. I cut a .08 RT, but only went 12.62 on 12.50. "HVY BOAT" Charger had a worse .14 RT, but was right on his numbers, running 12.27 on a 12.26 dial in. I was done. In looking over the datalogs, I can see I came out of the throttle quite a bit more during this run. You can see the difference in the green trace, which is my throttle position. This is not a formula for success.

BUT -- no RPM dropouts! My starter switch acted up again, but I was prepared with a workable backup plan. I have some work to do this winter.

Sure was fun watching Paul go rounds, get the Bye into the final, and then take the win.

We had an earlier than normal dinner time so I could get to TRP early,
it didn't matter, I still only had time for for two time runs.
.0328 lite, 2.2301 60 ft., 15.0224 @ 92.51 mph and
.0226 lite, 2.2278 60 ft., 15.0550 @ 92.13 mph.
Decided not to wait for Truck, not a bad decision,
I did the same thing last year and went 6 rounds for the win.
Did not want to breakout, so I lowered my dial.
Rnd 1: dial 14.99, .1350 lite, 2.2570 60 ft, 15.0642 @ 92.35 vs dial 14.40, .2118 lite, 2.0875 60 ft, 14.4594 @ 96.63 mph. .0620 win against Smurf
Rnd 2: dial 15.02,-.0302 lite, 2.2463 60 ft, 15.0858 @ 91.94 vs dial 12.20, .1378 lite, 1.9352 60 ft, 12.5591 @ 112.07 mph. lost by my red lite
Then I hung around with 'Smoke as we watched BP do his thing.

As Dave said, TireSmoke was well represented. TRP is ALWAYS great fun!
