2019 Hawaii Cruising Vacation

Cruising is always fun, but this one had a great dinner table, for me,
mostly because I finally sat with a “real” car guy.
For the sake of this post I’ll call him “Saskatchewan Don”. He has an S10 Pickup (really a GMC S15, my bad) that he has had for a long time, it went from being used up to really crazy good.
Until 5 years ago, he campaigned this truck regularly, running very low 11’s.
After a non-auto incident, a doctor told him the violence of a launch could be bad,
so he is now having the truck detuned and it will run on pump gas.
He has e-mailed me some pictures and here they are. Besides at the dinner, we had several “bench racing” sessions about today and the old times.
He was a teenager when GMJohnny’s 442 was new. It just goes to show, you don’t need to be drunk to get high!
Also, he can use a pool cue, and plays a good game of poker.
