BP and Fred32V spent the day at Pit Race. This was our first chance to experience our new TrackBird.
The weather was hot in the sun but we used our new Red Canopy to stay in the shade.
After an equipment inspection and some wrist bands we were ready to go.
Cost was $40, no classes, or rewards, just your time showing after you completed your run.
60 cars divided into 4 groups, each group would make 3 passes, that occurred 3 times,
so the TrackBird made a total of 9 runs, 3 at a time while relaxing in between group sessions.
LowKey was well organized and everything went smoothly. I never felt that we were anything but welcome.

BP did the driving, the TrackBird performed well with no surprises. Drove it there and drove it home.
For me, riding along was serious fun! Ever pass was faster than the one before.
There is nothing to compare our numbers to, but it didn't take long before BP had that Bird soaring, wow!

We did invite a fellow named Karl to join us in the shade of our canopy.
He has a sweet little blue Miata and is a regular. Fun to chat with him.
I think at the end of the day BP was a little faster.

(I was as relaxed as I would be at TRP.)

Really enjoying being part of the TrackBird!

There is one more LowKey AutoCross at Pit Race this season.

It's on Saturday, October 12th.

Sadly I won't be here, but if you haven't tried it this would be a good time.
Maybe if you had an LS S10 or an early Chevelle with all that new suspension.

Just sayin'. :D

I'm trying to get out of a stupid wedding that weekend. If there's no wedding, I'll be going probably with the S10. But back to the one we just did: It was awesome! This is really the first time I've been able to drive a car to it's limits, without worrying about cops, crashing, etc... I know I've scraped for time on video games my whole life, but it was fun taking time off the clock with almost every run in real life. I know that we were faster than lots of cars that we shouldn't have been. As I look at the picture of how far the Bird is leaning in that tight 180, I can tell there's plenty of room for improvement too. I'm definitely looking forward to doing more of this in the future, and the format that LowKey uses, tells me I'll probably be doing more of it there at PittRace.

I know we had a ton of fun with a cheap car. It was PERFECT!

There is no substitute for real life.

Sounds like a good format they have there with opportunities for lots of passes
