This was the last Wednesday night this season. Mid to low 60s for temperature.

GMJohn came late with his 66 Olds 442, It was the hit of the evening. Always a crowd.
Ready to Run.
Ready to Run.
He came away with a smile.

I suggested that BP run Truck Eliminator since he didn't have a Trophy in that class
and I'd meet him in the Finals. Unfortunately I was out in the 1st round with a 0.007 second loss.
My best pass of the night was 14.60 @ 94.48. I dial 14.58, had a .10 light turned 14.66, not good enough.
BP didn't disappoint, now he has a trophy in every class but Bike.

BP and 'Smoke were very close all evening.

As always, TRP is great fun!!!

My Chevelle was totally on the money tonight.
Time runs:
12.40 (RT.14)
12.41 (RT .07)
12.39 (RT -.05)
12.41 (RT .01)

1st round
12.41 on 12.40 dial-in. RT -.009 grrrrrrr!!!!

That's 5 runs all within .02. It was running 107+ MPH all night, compared to 106 last week.

DA started at 1870' and dropped through the night to about 1500'.

I was able to muster another win with the S10. I put the race tires on in an effort to be quicker than Dave. :P Good thing I did too. My best time run was a 12.34 at 111. I was struggling with some traction issues shifting into 2nd, but figured out a better burnout helped.

It was a four round event. Having the fastest truck payed off last night. I had two red lights against me and I got the byerun into the finals. My second round was the tough one. I ran a 12.42 on a 12.38 dial with a very small tap of the brakes just at the stripe. My .04 light bested the other guys .08. The difference was .006 on that one as he ran a 14.11 on a .10 dial. Here I avenged Fred's loss in round 1.

So much fun hanging out with the crew. GM had a crowd around the 442 all night.

My best run of 14.37 was run against Fred's truck. I was busy watching the guy behind
me burnout when the tree fell and cut a sweet .4xx light. I just about caught him when
I ran out of track. My lights were better on the next two runs. .07 & .08. I was doing
pretty well in the finals until I blew the 3 - 4 shift. Dummy!! That's the easiest of
the shifts. Too much excitement I guess. After hearing the grinding it made trying to
get it into gear after I missed the shift, I decided that my best was good enough and
headed on back home. It was fun to talk to the people who came up to the car. It's
cool to me when guys say "I had one like this..." or "my Dad used to have...." A select
few actually knew what the deal was with the tri-carb set up and how rare it is. The
night and weather were perfect! Dave, Paul and Fred were definitely more stiff competition
for their foes in eliminations. I was glad to walk away with a good slip!
