Except for the wheels, this car is astonishingly the same. No passenger mirror, no a/c, same color combo, etc... cool.

That's pretty cool not sure that is the same color looks a little too blue. It's hard to tell you just need to meet the guy and take a picture of them both together!

That Caddy is missing the sweet 8 track upgrade kit which is an extremely
important option when talking about value. It is also extremely desirable on
long trips when you want to listen to some Guy Lombago.

I'd guess that car was repainted. Also, what is that "V" emblem on the side of the roof? Still a really sweet ride for $10K.

No mention of 13 second time slips. Maybe they're in the glove compartment?
What can I say.....I like it! An absolute time capsule that you don't see every day.

I kinda like that V up there. I was wondering whose car was correct, but seeing as you all know the history of Paul's from new, I guess thats an add-on.

Yep, an add-on for sure. Paul's has add-ons also. His grandfather added the emblems
on the front of the front fenders from a 70 Cadillac, and the hood ornament from a 71.
Paul added those little "V"'s on the sides of the front fenders.

Paul, when I was a kid my dad had a '69 Coupe Deville ragtop similar to yours except it was dark brown - man there were some good memories there.

Funny thing though, is that over the last couple weeks, I've actually starting thinking it might be time to sell the old Caddy. I haven't decided that for sure, but I have had it for about 15 years. For me that's an insane amount of time. I do really like the car, and it is different from pretty much anything else out there, but I'm thinking it might just be time for a change. I haven't posted any ads or looked for any other cars yet (although sometimes they find me), I'm just in the thinking stage right now. Plus, my cousin told me a long time ago, that if I ever sold it, I'd have to give him first crack at it. So that's what I would do.
I imagine this should start some discussion of sentiment vs just another car vs anything else you guys would like to voice in this debate that's raging in my head...

I would say the main thing would be to keep it in the family if at all possible.
You should get the history of the car (how long did Grandparents have it, how long Dad had it). The car is 45 years old you owned it 1/3 of the time. Seems likely that you have already owned it longer than Dad or Grandparents. Figure that out!

Grandpa had it 15 years, I had it 15 years, and now Paul has had it that long.
It has under gone all its' change since Paul had it. Paul has made it
singularly unique and an express of his personality. He BUILT it.
I can't think of any other car that draws more attention
or creates more conversation, especially at drag strips or car shows.
It is fun to hear him explain to folks all the little details of what HE has
done to HIS car.
(He has to ask himself if he wants something someone built.)
This car has been in his life since before he was. He has OWNED IT for
more than a third of his natural life. It's his to do whatever,
it has been, ever since he's had it. Funny thing about change.
Just sayin'.
Correction, Grandfather had it 18 years and I had it 12 years.
