Well the time has come for a new company car. I ended up with a certified preowned LTZ, dark blue with gray leather. It has 28k miles. I was kind of hard on it today (120 miles and I got 25mpg).
First to get the windows tinted I think.

Nice. What kind of improvement in mileage over the Avalanche?

I'm guessing, like Mark's Impala, it will run a 14.6 in the 1/4. I believe it has a six speed auto too which should help.
I like the color too. It's got the spoiler too like you wanted.
There must be something about these Impalas. You're the third one on the board to have one...

Well keep in mind I had a 2005 Impala when I first started at Bosch too.
It gets down the road pretty fast.

Windows tinted. Next will likely be a trans cooler and a hitch.

I have been pretty lead footed around town and the DIC shows 19.7mpg with an average speed of roughly 26mph. I have a trip coming up to Mobile Alabama (5 hours) we'll see how it does.

What's the yellow reflection in the rear quarter? S-10 of some sort?
Tint looks good.

The guy doing the tint drives a yellow pathfinder.

I had to drive to Mobile Alabama, 5 hours and I got 29.2 mpg. Roughly 10 -11 mpg better than the Avalanche.

Impressive! Is it comfortable to ride in for that amount of time?

It is an LTZ so it has the firm leather seats in it. The cloth seats seemed a bit cushy when I test drove others. The seats are heated too but I haven't tried them yet. Yes it was as comfortable as it could be. It had sufficient leg room. I just kept the cruise set at 75 and moved on down the road. The only trouble I had (even with XM), I just could not find anything I wanted to listen to on the radio.

What about channel 39? That's Hair Nation
I made 25 MPG my last tank which was mostly freeway driving. Speeds were 70-75 for the most part. I noticed the mileage is a lot better if you can keep it at 70 or under. The car is big enough that the wind resistance is definitely a factor at 75.

When I drive home Friday I'll try to do 70 and see what the mileage is.
