Went out to TRP tonight with the Chevelle. In short, lackluster results. 13.20s, with a best of 13.16. I lost in the first round with a host of problems.
13.77 @ 100 (out of gas)
13.206 @ 102.104
13.266 @ 101.903
13.210 @ 101.726
13.166 @ 102.428
14.948 (round 1, 13.20 dial-in) -- had all sorts of problems -- red light, tire spin, too-low tire pressure in the slicks (back end wouldn't stop wagging off the line -- had to lift)
If you throw out the first and last runs, the car was actually pretty consistent. The 13.16 was after a long cool down and I was also making slight tuning changes on the top end to try and get more MPH. (which didn't work very well)
After going to start the car after the 13.210 pass, it had a dead battery. I was able to get a jump from Mark, after we borrowed cables from the new owner of the track. I think I have a weak connection from the alternator to the wiring harness that might be limiting how much charge I'm getting. After that, I was real leary about shutting the car off, although after fixing up the connection a little at the alternator, everything seemed fine the rest of the night.
