2011 Maverick Comet Group Gathering in Somerset, KY
The 5th Annual MCG Gathering is being held this week in Somerset, KY. Son, Barry, and I are driving the Sprint over Friday. We'll meet an old buddy near Knoxville for lunch than on to Somerset for the Friday evening meal and meeting and the Saturday show at a park. Returning Sunday. We're hoping for a safe and trouble-free trip.

We're home. Had a great time. Nice cars and fine folks. The trip was almost trouble free. On the way home, the RR tire went bad about 60 miles from Raleigh and we limped home on the donut spare. It was one of four cheap Craig's List tires. Can't help wondering if the one wheel peel that filled the air with tire smoke cooked it? 
Oh well, they were temps anyway. Guess I can't put off the new 15" wheels and meats any longer.

Here's the tire that failed. The steel belts were worn thru.
