Previously struck out when looking for hub centric rings for the aftermarket 15X7 steel wheels. Now, JustForWheels says them can make them. Ordered them but don't know if they'll be here in time for the 4/7 T&T. Still need to get the Drag Radials mounted on the new wheels.

Because of the rain forecast, we called off the planned trip to the strip. Then, at noon, WXO called to say "Let's go!". OK, just gotta get to the Credit Union and get the drag radials moved from the Maverick rims to the new Lincoln rims. Got 'er done and we're off at 3PM for a 4PM opening. Well, the GATES open at 4PM. Track opens at 6PM. The whole facility has been redone. Nice!!

Then the ambulance doesn't show up so no runs till 7 or 7:30. Got two runs in. I'm disappointed in the ETs and MPHs but the Lincoln launches better than the Maverick. Never got sub-2 second 60' with the Maverick.

I'm jealous, we were hoping to go to TRP this Saturday,
but their predicting 8" to 10" of snow. Maybe next week.

Some serious 60' times for that heavy weight.
Don't you wish you could run a full quarter and let that Lincoln stretch its' legs.
The second eighth will be a lot more satisfying.

While your at it, a standing Mile would be pretty exciting too, once you have that weight moving.

What does the Continental weight?

Anyway you and your car look great and no one would suspect your stop light potential.

Thanks, Fred. 1/4 would be interesting but maybe not all that impressive. I wonder if the aerodynamics of the brick are hindering the top end. 1 mile might be a thrill. Might help to get the front end down so it's not forcing all that air under the car.

Haven't weighed it but I think the original weight was around 4600, reduced by aluminum heads and intake and headers. The 460 heads and manifolds are REALLY heavy. Used the engine lift to remove them. That's why the front end is so high.

Well, lots of good things happened. You made it to the track, you made some passes, and you drove home unbroken. All real good things. The car sounds great, goes quickly, and you can drive it anywhere. It makes me miss my Caddy a little. Cool!

WXO pulled this frame from the video and removed some clutter. For some reason his camera didn't focus initially but that, to me, gives the illusion of movement. Like the isolated view.

And dug some holes in the asphalt.

Thanks! We're going back tomorrow AM for a re-do with AM light. I'm hoping no one there knows who dug holes in the pavement.

No redo on the photo shoot. I'm VERY pleased with the first one. Its so crisp it seems to have depth/3D effect.

Did a beautiful drive about 30 miles up to Louisburg to a car show today. First annual show for a Baptist church and they did a fine job. Police, EMS, Fire Dept, voter registration, fresh-cooked food & drinks, live music by 2 gospel groups, big blow-up slide, bounce chamber, 50/50 raffle, and about 25 cars with trophies for everyone. No judging, just handed out the trophies. My two favorites were a 77 Grand Marquis and an American Motors car (forgot the year and model) with a Small Block Ford.
