The S-10 is clean, changed, lubed, and aired up for action. It will be packed up Wednesday night and ready for a quick departure Thursday evening after a quick dinner.
Sounds like the 442 is out for the trip and I'm guessing 32v to be taking over driving duties. Duty.

Does it have speed rated tires? Not that we would need them of course.
I don't know. I haven't been stopped for speeding with them, yet.

CD player? I have the new Nickelback. Not sure if it will be allowed since they have a Ford on the CD case cover and a Chrysler on the back.
Negative on the CD player. We have a tape deck with an adapter. However, I do have an iPod with 3500 songs on it.

Need a radar detector?
Couldn't hurt.

Well the ETC is being prepped to haul the Carlisle Wagon. The restored wagon will be on the swap meet grounds Friday early AM. The weather will be high 60's and 30 - 40% showers. With a shiny new wagon and tons of wax on the ETC, rain is almost a certainity. The ETC DOES have those "Speed Rated" Bridgestone Tourenza tires, on the remote possibility that it might experience a chance encounter with other fellow GM performance products. WXO will have his little yellow car there.

Dave will be bringing his grill, so if you want something to eat, you might want to bring it. There will be a reasonable suppy of hot dogs, cheese brats, and burgers, and mostmint will be bringing the condom-mints.

I will have the cooler for the cooler trailer and I'm sure mostmint will have the storage cooler.

Hard to believe Spring Carlisle 2006 is history. You could call it the Meet that was Good, Bad, and Ugly. The weather was good and the weather really sucked. The crowd was huge with many venders, then there were few. The food, evening activities, and those great accommodations just added to the total experience.

Saturday was a little different.

Wait until next year.

wxo - thanks for the test drive. With the memory seats the only way you should know I was even in the car is the mileage for that tank might be down a little 8)

For next time:

Right now I am planning to be at the meet on Friday and Saturday.

We should also have an alternate plan if the weather is looking bad (have a go/no go decision on Tues or Wed before so we can cancel rooms and plan another backup event later in the year?)

There's something pretty illegal about 115mph and no shoes.... COOL!

I wouldn't get to arrogant about 115 in a GTP. Johnnie doesn't even have the hammer down in the wagon. He's just cruisin'

Last Carlisle??

This just in...

I was on a plane yesterday with a guy (from Carlisle) and his daughter (who works the Carlisle shows) and he said that this may be thee last year for it all. Just a few weeks ago, it was announced that the Carlisle Army base was one of two awarded to as homes for the new Striker units. These are kind of a cross between a hummer and tank. Heavily armored, yet pretty mobile and small. Anyway, they may be selling (or forced to sell) most of the fairground to the Army who is already butting up to it. At this point, no word on where it'll move, though it should still be in the area. Anyway, just the 411. He seemed to think it was a matter of when, not if.

no more Carlisle?

I just finished the slideshow DVD for 2006 Carlisle. I'll be making copies soon and mailing them to Fred before I leave for Alaska on Friday.
