Tough night for Team Tiresmoke with 0 wins tonight. My tuning challenges are continuing. My 02-sensor went out at some point tonight, so that didnt help things. This stupid sensor is brand new. I put it just before racing season started. Good thing I bought two...
I went 12.52 @ 108 in my first time run. I applied a tuning change, which i should've known was gonna make it worse by the numbers I saw, but i applied it anyway, and i was de-warded (is that the opposite of rewarded?) with a 13.30 @ 103. I re-applied the tune from Time Run 1, plus a few manual changes and dialed 12.50 for round 1. I was lined up with a new Challenger dialed at 12.10. I got a decent leave, with a .11 R/T and I was ahead by a good margin the whole way. I lifted before the MPH trap, but went 12.48 @ 99 for the breakout-loss. It was breakout city all through eliminations with plenty of double breakouts as it really cooled off when the sun went down.
I ended up hanging around for a time-run, but even that didn't go well. I pulled into lane 1, did my burnout, then got waved off by the starter as they start to clean something up on lane 2. Prob sat for 2 minutes. Should've done my burnout again, but it was just a timerun. It spun a little off the line and went 12.48 @ 108.
I've now logged 17 passes on the season and 6 round wins, and made it out there 3 weeks in a row. I've been racing this car for 33 years now (!!) and it's still fun.
