Well, the doors are partially completed. As soon as they are up, it's done! They should be done either today, or certainly by the weekend.

And Gwen bought me this really cool Craftsman cabinet! Has shelving in the doors and pegboard holes on the sides.

Are you going to seal the floor before it gets messed up?

They sealed the floor within a few days after it was poured. I'm wondering if there's an added protection against oil I can put down -- besides cardboard.

Now I just gotta order/install the lift and paint the inside. I'm being conscious not to take too much stuff out there yet.

Nice. It looks like you had plywood installed on the inside instead of drywall. I agree getting paint on it now would be a good idea - if you want it painted in there. You might want semi gloss - something that will clean up easily - you never know when transmission fluid might get sprayed on the walls.

Did you get any insulation in the walls?

It's not plywood, but rather OSB (oriented strand board). Better than drywall, as I can screw anywhere into it, not just at the studs (within reason). Yes, fully insulated in the walls and ceiling.

The OSB might've looked cool un-painted, but they put these ugly (albeit useful) green lines all over it showing where the posts/studs are.

Gloss paint has been mentioned to me by others for the easy-cleanup potential.

I think that material would also be better than drywall as far as being resistant to damage - seems like a good idea.

If you get to painting you may want to consider rollers with a longer knap so as to reach into the nooks and crannies of that material. Or maybe consider spraying it on.

The ticket to painting it quickly is an airless sprayer. Typically guys who "whitewash" new house
interiors will spray the paint on and backroll with a roller to get the finished look people want. A
sprayer will guarantee that the uneven texture of the OSB will be filled and there will be no missed
spots. The sprayer will use more paint, my guess would be 30% more, but it lays it down so quickly
that it's worth the extra money spent.
