Well the old Rambler's AM radio just wasn't cuttin' the mustard!
Last year I stuck a MP3 player (yes I'm cheap no IPod's here) to some velcro on the ash tray - that fixed my immediate problem but pretty much looked like ....well you know.
So what's a cheap bastage to do???
I took 2 ash trays and welded them together (back to back) this allowed the ash tray to slide out MUCH farther than original. Now I stuck a spring loaded hinge in there and I'm cooking with gas!
Now it's easy to "hide" and keeps the dash looking OEM!
Here's a link - but I gotta warn you - I'm not much of a narrator :-0

That's really cool and really clean looking too. I love how "cheap" leads to cool engineering like that.
I still haven't seen that car in person... hopefully soon.
I'll post some race pics a little later too.

Thanks Paul, It's always nice when my cheapness is appreciated!!
BTW Thompson was great - except for the zillion cars - made it hard to get down the track.
For the record, my first somewhat dismal run was a result of short shifting and making the entire pass in second (2 speed)
The next run went very well and while not my fastest ever ET it WAS my fastest MPH - so I was very thrilled with that!
143.4 MPH!!!!!
Was a bit disappointed that I didn't actually see the caddy run ;-( I'm glad it did well!!
I also missed just about everyone else's run too! Smokin' Joe, Crazy Dave and all the rest - oh well maybe next time...
Lookign forward to seeing pics of the event!!
