I bought one of these to monitor gas mileage and other interesting stuff on the Trailblazer (Ruby).

I took it for some test runs, but to get accurate results I still need to calibrate distance using mile markers. It collects info from a set of vehicle sensors then performs calculations to provide an array of information that can be displayed.

Great idea, Jim! Run with it! We can start looking for late model, OBDII motors right away!
Re: Ultra-gauge
Still have some Phase 1 things to do. Willy and I got the Taurus fan almost installed. Just hafta do the physical mount on one side. Also need to get the Traction Loc installed. Then I'll want to drive it for a while and establish a base liine at the track.
If I could convince wifey to sell the boat I could pick up something like a gently used 5.0 Lincoln donor and put it in the boat garage. Or were they 4.6L by '96? 4.6 doesn't fit between the shock towers. I can start thinking about it.
Maybe next winter. Of course, at my age, that's long range planning ...

The only 5.0's that were OBDII were in Explorers / Mountaineers...

Thanks for that! Been wondering if there were any OBD II 5.0s but hadn't researched it yet. May look for a 2WD donor some day. Those rear disks with minor mods have been used on Mavericks too.Basement Paul wrote:The only 5.0's that were OBDII were in Explorers / Mountaineers...
