TRP - September 2010
BP wanted to see if his new header on the Saturn helped and GMJohnny was looking for better numbers for his Vette, so off to TRP we went. I took the Chevy. GM talked his pal Matt (aka: MattFusion) to bring is 4 Cyl Ford to try his luck. Traction was poor, that did not bother BP's front drive or My Silverado, but GM missed his best ever by .04. BP ran a best time ever for his Saturn, I think it was 15.71, I'm not sure of the speed. My Silverado ran a best 16.01 @88.55mph (best ever 15.9@89) MattFusion's 4 cyl ran 17.17, that was a fun second faster than my 1958 Chevy Impala convertable 283 4bbl v8 18.18@80mph. Hmm, 50 years later.
Sandy..............................GMJohnny................... my tight win
I rigged a camara holder to video my first round win, the Saturn in the run before mine was BP's win over a 10sec Mustang. It was not his best win, he trailered an 8 sec rail.

I went out in the fourth round, outlasting GMJohnny and BP. As alway, TRP was great fun!!

Re: TRP - September 2010
32V is right, I went 15.71 on a breakout in the 3rd round. The best run was my 2nd round win against the Reher Morrison powered rear engine rail. He was dialed in at 8.25 and I was dialed in at 15.75. I cut an .07 light to his .02 light (I'm quite certain he was running a box) and I ran a 15.76 to his 8.23... I win!! I'm quite certain nobody there gave me a chance. I love being the underdog sometimes, but I knew my luck would only last so long, since I'm running a stick shift, front driver, with a questionable clutch.
Either way I had lots of fun, got my best time by more than .2 (the $60 header was well worth it!) and was consistantly running 87mph too. The Saturn has proven to be lots of fun, reliable, and great on gas (many times over 35mpg).

Fred, we love the videos. Just a suggestion for next time. Try to position the camera so that we can see the tach and speedo during the run.

I wanted to join you guys the other night, but it was mom's 70th birthday. I'd be in trouble skipping that to go racing..

September 25, 2010 Most of this is also under Project 2006 Cadillac STS-V
The question was “How much would the Hutter Tune Help?” Well we rushed to TRP to make some passes. The first thing that was great is the car will now do a burnout. Nothing like rubber on your quarters to say you’re a real racer. (The new batteries that I just got for my Fuji went dead early so I don’t have any of the exciting things that happened later.) It was a day of lows, then highs, then lows then the ultimate high. Here is a video of my very first pass, the shift points were too high and would hit the rev limiter, that went on for several passes, but I called Trevor at Hutter’s, he said he was planning to come out and would be there soon. Well he sent Dusty ahead with the computer and he did a quick download, which fixed the problem for one pass then it returned. By then Trevor arrived, he made one last change and I made three more great passes after that, including my very best ever.

Along with the new numbers, I went four rounds in the Gamblers Race,

Always fun at TRP, just sometimes it’s even more Fun!!!

Re: TRP - September 2010
In all the commotion I failed to mention that TireSmoke and BP were also at TRP. It was the 1st time Smoke has put his Chevelle on the track in along time. I don't think he was pleased with his results, but it has to be better than walking pass it in the garage. I'm sure he'll be back. BP was trying to lower his numbers on his S10, didn't quite get there. BP was in the Gamblers Race, but arrived at TRP late and only had 1 pass before eliminations. It's stange to see him out in the first round. Smoke only ran time runs.

Re: TRP - September 2010
As I went into the garage to get my camera from the car so I could post my pics/videos, I come back in the living room and there's a silver Caddy racing around on my screen. It was the new CTS-V commercial, showing it running around Nurburgring.

Yeah, I was less than thrilled with my results, although I did drive the car there, make 3 passes, and went home without any incident. Best pass was the first one, 14.47 @ 95 MPH. Others were 14.55 and 14.58. All in all, a good day.
