Perfect. A new avatar will be in order then, too.

Mrs. C's Bed & Breakfast

Post by Fred32v »

If a trip to Cleveland is in the offing by WXO and Randi, Mrs. C and I would be pleased to provide Bed, Breakfast, and a garage for the duration of their stay. :)

Thanks, Fred. Nothing here is for sure, though. Not even a time frame. Rookie and I decided just to take it one step at a time to see what happens.
I've got a lot of home stuff I promised to work on since Randi retired. I can't just insert car repairs and a trip to Cleveland all of a sudden. I'll be working on the Firebird as time permits. When the time comes, I'm sure we would enjoy a trip to Cleveland and a visit with you and Arlene.

I'm way happy this is happening for the Rookie. Your first real muscle car! (Trailblazer SS's are cool, but it's not the same, even if it is slower)

The first thing would definitely be fresh gas and about a 10 mile drive at speed, this might cure the whole thing just bringing everything up to a real temperature. Who knows how old that gas is, and injected cars care a lot more than an old carburetor. I would also drop two bottle of a decent fuel injector cleaner in a full tank too. I think even a bottle of dry gas wouldn't hurt, if there's a lot of that old gas in there.

That car has a separate "injector" for cold starts that might be overacting too, and I don't think OBDI is smart enough to detect it.

You can get a 30 day tag from Ohio and ship it down there to get the car back. You won't be able to get the plates without the echeck. As long as WXO has the temp registration, he shouldn't have any problem getting back here. He may want to carry the Rookie's contact info too, in case he would get stopped for any reason.

WXO, can we get a couple pictures of the ol' girl in her current state?

Ok, last post in this thread. I'll start a new one in projects tomorrow.

I didn't want to clutter up the project thread.

This is just an FYI.

Need parts?
