TRP 6-11-17
I noticed this Sunday TRP is doing a TNT and Gamblers race. If there's some interest, I might head out there and work on some consistency.

I won't be there. My racing program is in a holding pattern pending new slicks/drag radials.

After church and breakfast, I'll be there with my camera.
After one pass I'll be ready for the Gamblers.

We need to find out when the gamblers starts. I'm guessing not until 1 or 2pm. I don't think I'll get there much before 11am. I'll bring my pop up tent so we can chill. Supposed to be warm. Bring a chair. I think Tony is going too.

Re: TRP 6-11-17
What an awesome special day we had. Mid 80's nice breeze, not many cars.
BP paid for my way in, Sandy wished me Happy Birthday when I arrived
and they acknowledged my Birthday before eliminations. Hugh fun!
The truck ran well right off the street. I had a best 15.13 @ 91.19mph.
Two time runs and then a RED in the first round of Gambler. (I hate that.)
Considering BP was just there to get even more comfortable with his S10,
I think his best was in the 12.30's over 110 mph. Serious fast in the heat!
After the first round he was mumbling something about being too fast.
OH YEAH! BP surprised me with my own camera. https://youtu.be/nlNGMBDWmz8
BP's 12.37 pass https://youtu.be/fnF8bUBBkgQ
BP wins again https://youtu.be/A4GRLYgGBdI
TDR is always fun, sometimes it's just even more fun!

Re: TRP 6-11-17
Sounds like a good time was had by all..
Since my lack of drag tires kept me from going out, I did the next best thing which was to rack up some miles. Topped off the Chevelle at Sunoco by the house, then Gwen and I took a back roads (no freeways) drive up to Presque Isle in Erie, PA. We had some lunch and then went over to the Casino. I dropped $60 playing blackjack.
We took a short hop on the freeway back to Ohio Rt 7 (basically right at the border) for the sake of expediency, and then continued our back roads drive home. Racked up a little over 200 miles, and after getting back home, still have a 1/2 tank of gas. Ran flawlessly the whole time. I love cruising this thing as much as I love racing it!

Re: TRP 6-11-17
Somehow the links for my two races aren't working. I went to your channel and didn't see them there.
We did have a great time. I'm still trying to figure out the truck's inconsistency. As I look back, I believe it's got to do with the engine temperature. I think I'll need to have it at normal operating temp for every pass to get the consistency back as my launch and my lights were pretty decent all day. My best was a 12.37 @ 110.8 and my worst was a 12.52. I ran a true heads up race in round one. We both had .03 lights and I had what seemed to be a car length on him going into the traps. I dialed a 12.49 because my previous two passes were a .52 and .51. I stabbed the brakes right at the line to knock off about 4mph but the truck still ran a .43. I might have used more brakes but my opponent was totally in my blind spot and I really wasn't sure where he was, and I thought there was no way I was going to run that fast.
Oh well, loss be damned, we had a really good time just chilling out and making passes. I'll get it more consistent as the year goes on.
I have some pics in my camera, but that's in the S10 right now and I'm in the basement. I'll post them this week.

Re: TRP 6-11-17
Ugh....I forget to let BP know what derailed my plans for TRP today. My bad.
On Thursday night, I took my drag radials over to the Clinic that is in the spot previously occupied by Rick's Garage. Unfortunately, the owner was passing a kidney stone but P. Carson was going to mount the Nittos on my new Torq Thrust D Wheels on Friday.
So I swung by after work on Friday and there was Joe......back at work and trying to get caught up. He was trying to mount the tires to the new wheels but one req'd five ounces of weight to balance and the other required ELEVEN ounces of weight. Joe was miffed and not sure what to do. I told him to go home, rest up, and call me on Monday after he's had a chance to recover. I truly appreciated the effort....but it was time to go home and recoup.
So, much like Dave, I didn't have tires to race on. Only I actually did have tires to race on.....but I wanted to look cool and have all four wheels match....and it cost me the ability to race today. (Couldn't leave well enough alone, could I?) Which is too bad b/c I would have very much enjoyed hanging out with Cossick Senior and Cossick the Younger. Rain check for sure.

Re: TRP 6-11-17
Funny how the CalTrac bars changed the way the truck launches. The picture Tony got my from last fall, the truck is all low in the back which makes the nose look really high in the air. The CalTracs basically stand the whole truck up on launch. Looks very calm on launch now.
Tony, no worries on the no-show, but we missed you.
