Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
Maybe not end but it will slow down enough to let you drive and enjoy it. You'll know the Vette from bumper to bumper.

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
I started a thread on the Corvette forum and got an interesting post this morning. Having thought about this for a second, I also recommend that you check the fuel pressure regulator. If the regulator diaphragm has failed, and the key is turned on, when the fuel pump pressurizes the rail some fuel c...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
What if the dirty TB was the cause of the bog and not the fuel pressure? What if I had raised the fuel pressure to compensate for flow problems in the throttle body? I like this theory. It would explain the error code with multiple cyl misfiring, multiple cyl overly rich, and fuel in the crankcase ...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
I’m not sure if this car has it or not, but my Oldsmobiles have always had a damper in the exhaust manifold to help build heat when the motor is cold. Mine flaps like crazy until the heat heats up a spring and the flap opens. It sounds like something like that to me. "Puff, puff, puff, puff, ....

Re: Mail Alert
I didn't intend to have anything more to say about the mail alert, but gotta say it's working perfectly now. It just needs an unobstructed line-of-sight to the mailbox door. Works EVERY time now. Very handy.

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
I had a ride in this great Vette. To me, it feels much faster than the Lincoln maybe in the 12s. But, WXO says the stock Vettes of that era aren't in the 12's. After thinking about it, I wonder if it feels that way because of the tires. No wheel spin. Where the Lincoln or Maverick tires would break ...

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
You're knocking the issues off one or two at a time. Good news! Congats on the clutch linkage and tapping noise. I'd like to hear the other noise. How 'bout inviting me over sometime when you're going to start it.

Re: 1996 Collector Edition Corvette
That is a great technique for sure. I just can't understand HOW it works and it's driving me nuts. Liquid can't be sucked from a closed, constant volume system full of liquid. Somehow, as fluid/air is removed it has to be replaced or the volume of the system reduced. I have a couple of theories but ...

Dave,
Maybe this discussion of fluxes would help.

Would be good to overcome the soldering issue, use the parts you have, and save $250. Wishing you good luck.
