Re: MIA

MostMint, I'm good on tools, my issue is remembering what I have there vs what I need there for a particular job!

BTW The 580 is more scary doing a wheelie than the digger is! The Oliver does a pretty mean wheelie too!

Re: MIA

MostMint, its in Waterford Pa which is near Erie. It's about an hour and half from me. 18 acres run down dairy farm. Needs a LOT! I hate Chicom products so those were out of the question. I considered a used Bobcat, but even whooped those are pretty spendy.

BP, Just a get away where I can relax ...

MIA

Yeah I've been real busy lately. Figured I'd catch up (also explains why I'm commenting on old posts). Where do I even start? Well a couple years back my dad passed and I opted to buy his farm from the estate. Long story I'll spare you the "heir that never met him but decided I shouldn't buy the ...

I know what its like (well recovery in general - not your particular one though). Its always amazing when one comes back from these things! Moving without pain when you previously knew was always pain is an indescribable joy! Congrats!

Re: tool time, battery cable crimper

I always wanted to try the cheap hydraulic version of this and compare it to my good one. Problem with my good one is that the dies are expensive. The cheap hydraulic one includes the dies. The nice thing about the one you have is that there's no oil to leak out and render it non working! Pretty ...

Re: LS heads on a Ford 300 inline six

Greg Koesel (retired engineer from Ford) races an altered with a 300 six. Greg was able to obtain a factory experimental crossflow head from Ford. He's even got paperwork stating its on permanent loan to him from Ford - pretty cool. I digress. It'd be real interesting to see how this NEW head ...

Re: Sorta car related - trailer.

BP, I turned it on my little Clausing lathe and then cut it on the old DoAll bandsaw. Punched the holes on the Bridgeport.

I want to skin the trailer in aluminum and I haven't decided on the exact incarnation just yet. I am between the tilt up as you mention and also a 1/2 fixed 1/2 sliding (which ...

Sorta car related - trailer.

So here's a project I finished a little while back. I am toying around with the idea of enclosing the dragster trailer. I am leaning heavily towards a "Mr. Ed" style (the minimalistic dragster trailers). If you've seen my trailer you may have noticed I am not a fan of sharp corners and avoid them ...

BP, I left like a grandmother driving to church (no doubt) and it was still gettin' it! I'm also under driving the blower quite a bit. There's a LOT more in it for sure. Baby steps. ;-)

Re: Quickest Cars on Tiresmoke

Took the digger to 42 this weekend for the Rock-n-Race. Put down my best pass yet on a super easy launch I went 8.53@163mph. Pretty happy considering how easy I left. To Be Continued....

UNIVERSAL FUEL HOSE!!!!!

I needed a TIGHT 90 degree fuel line the other day for my diesel. Cummins wanted a RIDICULOUS amount for what should have been a 2 dollar hose. Of course I found THIS "universal molded hose" after the fact. Later I thought of ALL the times this would have come in handy! BTW they offer it in several ...

Would have been WAY cooler if he would have done a comparison WITH and WITHOUT the agitation. Not exactly an ultrasonic cleaner, but still a cool idea.

I wrote something up and posted it on one of the diesel forums. I am a NEWBIE there so we'll see how it is received. In any event I tried! :-)
