Re: 1991 Jaguar XJ-S

For question 11, about who drives with their fog lights only. I do, and others do too regularly too as I notice while driving around. In my Mustang, I just do it during dawn / dusk driving cuz it looks cooler IMO. In my Ranger, I use it this way mostly when it's raining during the day and "head...

Re: 1991 Jaguar XJ-S

You need to lift up your spirits on this thing, you're bringing me down with your half empty energy. You already solved the battery draining issue and have put more than 100 miles on it without needing a wrecker to get you home. I'd say you're off to a good start. The leaks may be solved by driving,...

Re: 1991 Jaguar XJ-S

Any chance the clunking is just simply old shocks/struts not bounding and rebounding as designed? All the bushings on my Vette look like dried up turds, and there's zero clunks with my newer shocks.

Re: KMP Wednesday Night Grudge Racing

I went out with the idea of running my best ET in the S10. With the new drag shocks and my "race wheels", I thought this would be possible with the good air that was coming. My first pass was a promising 11.31 (best was 11.27). Second pass got me there with an 11.26. Third pass was only a ...

Re: 2003 S-10

Since I'll be taking the S10 to Indiana in a few weeks for the North - South dirt drag race, I've been thinking about how to get more traction. So I bought a set of Caltrac 90-10 front shocks for it. These work pretty good on the Vette, even with the limited travel, and they're priced pretty well. I...

Re: 2024 Drag Racing Stuff

Despite the insanely terrible managemental organization last night, the outcome was still good. I'm glad they opened too because up to this point I had taken no hardware this year at all. I won against Gigantor in the finals by .0482 hard on the brakes. I ran a 11.58 on a .57 dial and knocked 8mph o...

Re: 1987 Corvette Z52

The "crossmember" that I was talking about is just two front frame support brackets that are plenty beefy, and clearly in the way of my pan, so I went to work with a grinder and a whizzer wheel. After a short while of that we test fit the motor and was able to easily get both mounts in pla...

Re: 2022 Jetta GLI

If you're buying multiple oil changes, Summit does ship free over $109, so probably three oil changes worth. I didn't have to jack my Golf up to change the oil, it was pretty handy having the filter on top, just like an ecotec GM motor.

Re: 2022 Jetta GLI

I always changed my own oil in my Golf. Castrol made an oil I believe that met all the criteria for the factory warranty, and I never changed my drain plug. It was the same plastic one that just took a big screwdriver to remove. I had it about as long as you do now. As long as you have the receipts ...

Re: 2024 Drag Racing Stuff

I started going through my time slips and I was definitely getting quicker as the night went on, both in reaction time and ET. So changing the rear gear got me down to a best of 4.22 and my best reaction time for the night was .057, with a couple other 4.2x runs and several (in competition) low .1xx...

Re: 1979 Malibu

Keep in mind your not hauling enough weight to matter. Mark's 10-15% logic is correct typically. But I pull my quad (400lbs) with a 450lb trailer, and I had 200lbs of sandbags too and I could lift the tongue easily with one hand and it pulled like it wasn't there with no swaying or bouncing. You're ...

Looks good to me. Mine sits at way more angle than that when it's on my truck. Good to go!
