Sorry, not an automotive project, but still the result was very satisfying.
This little project started July 19th and, except for the watering, was completed August 10th.
Notice the Before and After, they're the same view.

Before............................cutting sold trees..............horses Rock & Doc

Fifth Truck load...................Mess was left......................Chipper

Stumpping..........................serious fun.................grade and rough rake
ImageImageImage

Shredder.............................seed and straw........................After

I'd like to thank BP for giving up his Sunday to help GMJohnny and I chip up this forest.
It was raining pretty good but we prevailed. A very special thank you to GMJohnny
for arranging for the equipment that was used and giving me some of his free days and evenings.
Actually this was his fault, he said we could do it and he provided the momentum.
What could not be shown, were the hours of raking that
were put in by me to rid the area of small roots and underbrush.
That's behind me now, all that's left is to water and enjoy! :D

The first mowing was on August the 26th.

I would like a little more rain, but I'm done watering.

Looks really nice!! Its useless to plant grass down here anytime other than Fall. Even if planted in the early Spring, it doesn't get enough root established to make it thru the hot, dry summers.

Where's the croquet set?

This is really pathetic, you guys. A bunch of tiresmokers (myself included) with nothing to offer but comments on how well Fred's grass is growing.

Since you asked, this was the ditch that Jimmy stuck his F250 4x4 in that December night.
That was the end of the Christmas/New Years holiday poker parties in the back garage.
My wife was not happy when she saw our new lawn ornament the next morning.
Winched him out.
This was better known as the "Ditch-Match" ditch and was the site of many such matches.
Mostmint was in trouble when GMJohnny and Basement Paul teamed up.

Before..............................August 2005..........................Today

After many many loads of fill dirt, a new 18" pipe under the drive and some bucks,
you have what is there now. It took most of the summer of 2005.
Sadly no more poker games and no more Ditch-Matches. :P

One thing I always wanted to do was go to a swap meet and
buy one of those signs that says " Jimmy Parking Only " ( aimed at
a GMC Jimmy not Jimmy, the person, we are talking about ) and
nail it to one of the trees by the end of the ditch, but we didn't
want to get Mom into a tizzy. Dad had to fill in the ditch just to
keep that memory from popping into Mom's head. Good times......
