I made the trip to New Jersey yesterday and rumbled right on by Carlisle. The meet
was pretty well set up from what I could see from the freeway, with vendors all over
and about half of the lot closest to the road was full... Should be a good one! There
were some stupid traffic issues with cones lined up for what seemed to be no work
being done. Two of the tunnels had east and west traffic in the same tunnel, which
was the first time that I've ever experienced that. I made it the distance in about
4 and a half hours, with one stop.

Well, Fall Carlisle 2014 is now history, but you can sure pack a lot of fun into just a few days. Even the weather did its’ part by being pleasant for this time of year and only raining at night. Large crowds, plenty of vendors, huge car corral, BP’s luncheon specials, and great company. Since it was a little cooler in the evenings, there was plenty of medicinal wine and other spirits to keep us warm and that precipitated some great “Bench Racing” stories.

This was our 29th annual trip to a Carlisle event and it never fails to be a tremendous time.

Chevelles & Elkys always grab my attention. If Tony's Chevelle was a '70, a really nice Elky, and the red one made me realize I want that chrome trim at the bottom of the door.

The Quad 4 engine that would really wake up the Saturn, a cool wooo-woooo trailer

Good BBQ to wrap it up.

So a few memories from Carlisle. The Pinto is sweet, but no stock Pinto is worth $3999...

The '59 Caddy is just so cool. The rear grill is wicked cool.

SHOCKER!!!

And the '93 Vette is the only C4 convertible I've ever seen in person that actually has a factory hardtop with it and installed. This is really where I'd like to be when I'm done with my Mustang. Wicked cool. This car was $13k asking which was reasonable for a 40th Anniversary car in this condition. I'm guessing $11k was a realistic price for the car.

This year was their 40th Anniversary, sorry we missed the first 11.

Next year would/will be our 30th.

Special thanks to WXO for providing me with this great poster.

You know, we've never got a spot to sell stuff at Carlisle... Not sure how much it costs, but it would be a convenient spot to meet, eat, store our goodies, and maybe even sell some stuff.

I would consider it if anyone else wanted in.

I've always enjoyed trying to sell stuff at a swap meet.... Unfortunately,
I have nothing left to sell. Blame Craigslist and Ebay for that.

I could donate a few small things for you to sell. Just want to avoid scrapping them.

WXO and I were thinking about getting a space a couple of years ago. I started to look into it and think I ran into an issue that we'd need a tax number.

Add me to the list of those in favor of getting a space. A central location would do a lot to help the "walking challenged" among us. Maverick said that he might be willing to go if we decide to do this.
