this shows what a "car guy" can do with those garage skills!!
We needed a soccer ball launcher - mostly because my knee just hurts too much after I practice with the kids so...

FIRE UP the welder - and we came up with this!!

Thought you guys might get a kick out of it!!!

I love the evil laugh at the end like you just built some weapon of mass destruction.

Can you speed it up or slow it down?

Paul, yes it'll crank WAY WAY faster than this. In the video the motors are running right around 800 rpm - they top out at 2,500! They are also independently adjustable - so you can crank one more than the other so it will curve the ball. Built mostly out of stuff I had laying around. 90VDC motors - SCR controllers - 3" Tubing - 3/4" conduit. Only thing I bought were the rims/tires - Ebay and Lowes.

I still plan on a couple small refinements , but for now we're having a blast with it!!

You've do it again. Very clever, looks like a patent opportunity.

Thanks, but nothing unique here other than building it for peanuts!! Now the up and coming REV "B" - that just might have some slicker than snot on a door knob technology!! ;-)

Just wanted to show how a "car guy" goes about problem solving. Practiced last night with Donovan - afterwards my knee didn't hurt a bit!!! Mission accomplished!!!!!

OK Fella car guys - I'm trying to tie this all together so it makes sense as to why it's on a car forum so here goes:

Look closely at the pic - no not the lazy guy - no not the ice tea - yes you got it!! the '47 ford truck running board used as a ball return!!! See - car related after all -makes perfct sense - right???!!! :-)

Yep it was a hard day practicing with Donovan today!!!! ;-)
