No way, Black was released while I was still in HS -- therefore, it rocks.

There were a few decent songs on Black. But Justice was the last "real" Metallica album. Then again, most rock albums only have a couple good songs these days. *sigh*

I was in high school as well.

Oddly enough hearing the music on MTV inspired me to buy the first three albums. Then I stopped liking the "new" stuff 8)

The problem, of course, is that Cliff up and died. He was responsible for a lot of the "polish" on their second and third albums and a good deal on Justice as well.
