Carlisle 2009 - Spring Meet

Happy Halloween! Want to hear something scary! I've changed our reservations at the Super 8.
We're going to the Spring meet. It's not too early to schedule in the

SPRING CARLISLE 2009

into your busy life. Set aside
Thursday the 23rd, Friday the 24th, Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th of April.
This is the week after Holy Week and Easter Sunday, so our timing is right.
I think I'll travel up on Thursday the 23rd. Looks like my 2005
Silverado will be making the trip, since it's a truck and I want to
haul all those treasures home.

Now ask yourself, will you be there?

I'm in.

I put in my vacation request for Carlisle weekend and it appears to have been approved. I took off Friday, meaning I could potentially leave Thursday after work. I also took off the entire week following Carlisle. (I have 4 weeks banked).

So, Mostmint and I are on the phone, and we're trying to figure out who's going when, and who is riding with who.

I believe GMJohnny and I talked at the auto show about going up on Friday, I think on Friday morning.
Mostmint is planning on driving up Friday morning.

BP, Fred? You guys going up Thursday?

Tony is planning on going, and I assume he was planning on going with me, but he flies casual, so he'll be happy to ride with anyone.

We have no shortage of cool rides to take up there. '98 Corvette, '99 Buick supercharged, '06 STS-V, two '08 Chevy SS's. Probably the fastest collective fleet we've ever had.

Dave is correct. I am planning on going up on Friday am. I'd like to be at the fairgrounds around 12 - 1. I am an early riser, so leaving real early does not offend me. I am game to go with whoever needs a ride, and am planning on taking the vette, unless weather is rough. ( heavy rain and I'm leaking ) I have driven my GS there many a time and have no problem taking that one at the last second if weather does not hold. Remember, I do like to leave early on Sunday and am willing to take someone back as well, but I usually leave around 5:00 am. I am going to Vegas the week before, so I will not be able to be reached until Monday of the week we leave for Carlisle, but email will suffice. If anyone wants a ride let me know. As for Fred32v, I know he wants to be up there on Thursday, but am not sure he has anyone going with him. He'll be back from the other side of the globe on Apr 3rd.

I can't remember if I took Thursday off work, or just Fri / Sat. If I took Thursday off, I'll probably go late morning on Thursday to be there for dinner Thursday night. If I didn't, I'll go after work on Thursday as I'd like to be there for two full days as this Meat is HUGE, and I'd like to swap some serious meat this year.

I'm scheming for the Fri AM departure meeting up with whoever is going at that time. Tony maybe you want to drive to Wadsworth? You would have to be here early. We would need to leave here at 8 to get there at 12:30

In a little over two weeks we'll be in Carlisle. I'm planning on driving up Thursday, expecting to be there for supper. Looks like I'm going to be driving the Silverado. It could use some running boards and maybe a dual exhaust. Anyone who needs a ride is welcome to come along and listen to the XM radio.

I'd like to know who will be there Thursday night (even very late) and require a room, since I'm on the hook for this extra room.
Currently I believe that BP, GMJohnny, Mostmint, Tiresmoke, WXO, Tony are for sure going to Carlisle. I will talk to XeroxBill and Al R.

Anyone else who is interested, now would be a good time to say so and you'll be in. If you fly into Harrisburg someone will pick you up and drop you off.
