Turbo Subaru

Post by AKROVER »

I would put this under projects, but I don’t have any plans. My Rover is gone. As Walt would say, it didn’t have enough pedals. Since I’m still roving AK, I guess I can keep my username.

Hey Tim, it's good to hear from you. I'm glad you haven't forgotten us back here in the lower 48. It does my heart good to see you traded up for more pedals. Bet you couldn't wait to find some dry pavement to put that turbo to work.
Randi and I still haven't gotten over our trip to Alaska. We would like to make a return trip some day.

More Fun!

It just has to be more entertaining than the last ride.

According to Road & Track, numbers for the Subaru Forester Turbo are;
ENGINE TYPE: turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve flat-4,
aluminum block and heads, port fuel injection
Displacement: 150 cu in, 2457cc
Power (SAE net): 224 bhp @ 5600 rpm
Torque (SAE net): 226 lb-ft @ 3600 rpm
0-to-60-mph time: 5.9 sec
Quarter-mile time: 14.3 sec @ 96 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 128 mph
EPA city/highway driving: 20/27 mpg

Let's see, 2 tenths quicker and 1 mph faster than my old '99 Eldorado in the quarter.
That's a formula for some serious fun.

Do you have chains for all four corners?? Now you kind of have two Subarus. I've always like the Subaru Baja, and they did make them for two years I think, with an available turbo (but no stickshift).
