Well, I was the lone rep for Team Tiresmoke last night. The Chevelle ran pretty decent, even putting up a 12.36 @ 109.5 on my second time run, which was my best of the night. But I'm still having trouble launching it consistently. I *really* need a TnT where I can make a few laps. I just can't re-produce it well enough on the street. The bitch of it it's affecting my R/T, because I'm never quite sure how it's going to leave. I finally cut an .08 light during eliminations, but the motor stumbled, and I was .3 off my dial. Frustrating.

I won the first round against Sandy the picture lady in her blue Mustang. She had a terrible .35 light to my .1x -- caught at 2/3 track, lifted, and then powered through for the win.

2nd round, I came up against the 17.99-dialed Subaru Outback. I was dialed at 12.40. He red-lighted against me in week 2, but no such luck this week. I cut a .08 to his .23, but the stumble off the line killed me. 12.70 on 12.40, he went 18.07 on 17.99 (you can see it fall on its face on the live-feed)

I won't speak for the other two Tiresmokers at the track last night, but I had a great time! Five rounds for the Stock Eliminator win. The first round was a disaster for both driver's with two red lights AND a double breakout. Luckily, this is where having the faster car helps as he redlit first, and technically the first one is the only one that matters. But I was spot on after that.

Round two I cut a .03 to my opponents .06 and ran an 11.63 on my 11.60 dial flat out to my opponents 10.65 on a .63 dial. This was Don in his Red Hellcat, we always run pretty tight and I'm pretty sure he was the fastest guy in the field last night.

Round 3 was against a 1320 Challenger. He was dialed 11.85 to my 11.61. I cut an .03 to his .10 and hit the brakes to an 11.70 to his 12.02.

Round 4 was against what was most likely the slowest car in the field, which was Alexander in his Subaru Outback wagon. Nice young kid who is out there every week. He was dialed an 18.15 to my 11.65. I cut an .05 to his .17, but he was SOOO far ahead before I left it was funny. I caught him in the traps and whacked the brakes pretty hard to run a .66 to his 18.21. It was hard to judge where to hit the brakes because he's only going 75 mph to my 118. Close call there!

Final round was another Mopar, this time a white Charger dialed 12.42 to my 11.62. He cuts an .01 light but I pulled a .0004 green out of my ass. When it turned green I said out loud "WOW, GOOD LIGHT". I never did catch the Charger as he broke out running a 12.37, but I ran an 11.63. That was a pretty tough run to beat. The dumb thing about these big-ass Chargers is they are SO long, I thought I actually got to the line first. This bit me in the ass a few weeks ago when I braked too early against one of these.

Anyway, I got my trophy this year at least. I was sad that the KMP livefeed stopped after round two, but I did at least get my picture in the winner's circle, a trophy, and $50. I'll take it!

I had a great time too, and frankly, I went out there specifically looking to do what Paul ultimately did. Congrats man!!

After the Test n Tune last week, I was really confident that the car was consistent and that my RTs were really solid. I went 12.41 with an .07 RT on my first time run, and 12.36 with an .02 RT on my second time run.

My car always runs a little slower 1st round, so I dialed 12.38 for first round against an 11-second stick shift 4th gen Camaro. I killed him on the tree, .008 to his .1. I lifted in the traps to run 12.44 for the win. 2nd round I came up against a 13-second Mustang and he red-lit againt me, which I saw, so I only cut a .19 light, but I went 12.35 running it out. Third round was against the white Charger that Paul beat in the final. It was cool, we were both dialed 12.35. I beat him on the tree, .05 to .09 and had him covered the whole way. Lifted in the traps, but still went 12.33 on 12.35 (knocked off 3 mph) for the breakout-loss. I dialed-down that round and still broke out. I was kinda bummed, because I was on fire on tree. Maybe not .000000000004 on fire, but I was definitely competitive. I went for the final time run, cutting an .01 and running a 12.29 @ 109.

Just to recap, that was .07, .02, .00, .05, .01 -- I can throw out the .19 as intentionally slow as I saw his red-light.

They won't be running for the next 2 weeks, so I'm gonna swap out the race wheels for my street tires.

Another fun night at KMP. Cool to be there with 'Smoke & BP.
My Canyon had two time runs at 15.13. but the night air began to cool some.
Round One - Dialed 15.01 - .0630 reaction ran 14.83 @ 93.44 Win - Opponent went Red
Round Two - Dialed 14.85 - .2484 reaction ran 14.93 @ 93.76 Lost - Opponent .0384 reaction

I like the new "Winner Circle"!
Had an awesome good time watching BP methodically work his way through a huge Stock Eliminator field.
BP at his best.
BP at his best.
As always, KMP is great fun!

The Vette is basically ready for it's KMP debut tomorrow night. I now have the Toyo drag radials on it from the S10 in the correct Corvette size. Even at 32lbs of air, I don't think I'll even need a dry hop to get it to hook. My wish is to see a 13.99 but my reality says it's probably 14.2s somewhere. We're about to find out!

Another fun Wednesday is in the books! I took the Chevelle out for, I think, the 6th time this season. I'm trying to make up for all the times I couldn't take it last year. It didn't feel like good air, and the DA was around 2500 when we got there, but I still put down a 12.39 @ 108 for my first pass. I managed a 12.33 @ 109 on my next pass. I was pretty happy with that for the heat of the afternoon. My third time run was kind of a waste, but also foreshadowing. I bumped the rev limiter hard in 1st, then in 3rd gear, it just weakened out for a little bit, then came back. It would continue to do this every pass. I'm pretty sure I was just a little too low on gas. It's too bad too, because the air was really good as eliminations went on.

In the first round, despite being in 2 seperate lanes, 7 cars apart, Roberta paired up Paul and I. Well, that sucks.. I'm pretty sure Paul has me comfortably beat in however many head-to-heads we've had. He dials a 13.71 to my 12.33. He tree'd me, .01 vs .09. I feel like I'm really starting to run him down, when it does the lean-out thing again. Paul hits the brakes, but goes 13.7073 for the breakout loss to my 12.36. I knew I was behind at the stripe. But then my win-light came on -- not gonna lie, it felt pretty good. That's a tough win for me.

Here's my in-car. https://files.tiresmoke.org/f/6b9257d38 ... a979/?dl=1 (114 MB) Check out Paul's dry-hop. Looks like it scoots pretty good. You can hear what I'm talking about in my car just after the 1/8 mile.

2nd round, I kept my 12.33 dialin. I was against the black 'HVY BOAT' - plated Charger dialed at 12.11. He red-lighted, giving me the win. My car went 12.35, but the leanout was getting a little more pronounced.

3rd round, I was up against Joey Corrigan in his GTO. I lost to him in the Stock final week 2. His 12.21 dial to my 12.33. He killed me on the tree, .03 to my .12. The leanout was even worse this time, he caught me and pedaled it, and I somehow still broke-out with a 12.28. He went 12.23 on a .21 really pedalling it, so it would've been breakout-city had I cut a better light.
