I finally finished the legendary Dave Bales collection of stuff and got to detailing the gray Mustang. Unfortunately on the drive home from storage the OD gear started slipping under load on the freeway. It's sad, but super common on these AOD transmissions, especially with the crappy 2.73 gearing. I plan to get a quote for a trans rebuild, and will disclose it for the sale, but probably won't get it fixed. It will run like that using regular Drive forever from what I've read.
The detail turned out pretty well. The car is a 15 footer, but presents itself pretty well. I'll get the tranny quotes Monday morning and probably start posting at some point Monday afternoon for sale.

I think it turned out real nice.....even if the pictures are a little optimistic.

It's such a good time to be selling a desirable car that I bet you'll be surprised at what you wind up getting for that ride.

Potential buyers could be.....interesting. Lots of appeal for that car, me thinks.

Re: 1989 Mustang GT Convertible #57 Dove Gray - SOLD

This morning I posted on Fox Body Convertibles group on FB a brief introduction about both of my convertibles. And I made the mistake of mentioning that I was planning to sell the gray one. People were going apeshit (most of them flippers I'm sure) asking HOW MUCH, HOW MUCH!! So I calmed everyone down and said I'd post an ad shortly.
As soon as I posted the ad, Devin from Strongsville was quick on the draw, so I contacted him right away and after a short discussion, he said he could be out in the afternoon. He was Johnny-on-the-spot and turned out to be a real nice guy. He brought his significant other with him (can't remember her name) but they were good people and I'm glad they got the car. He'd been looking for a long time for a solid, stock car and planned to keep it and not just resell it tomorrow for more money.
I know I could have got more for it, but it's going to a good home, it was a quick deal, and now I can move on to getting the white one ready to cruise.

Weather next week is supposed to be....amazing.
I suspect that somewhere in Strongsville, this car is going to be riding around with the ragtop down.......
