I'm planning on being there and can make my schedule fit whatever. I will conform to what the
masses say. I kind of like the idea of heading out early Thursday morning and being at the meat
Thursday afternoon, Friday and maybe Saturday if the meat is that big. I could then head out
Saturday after the meat and be home around 9 or 10.

The MostMint one has laid out his plans for Carlisle.

Here is where BP and I ARE staying. We will have two luxurious non-smoking rooms for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Paul and I intend to arrive Thursday for an early dinner and returning home Sunday after breakfast.
My assuming has Walt and I in one room, with Paul, John, Tim. and Smoke in the other room.
If it is too busy someone can room with Walt and I or use our facilities.

How are my assumptions?

I am expecting Matt to put something together for his group as he did a great job last year.

Quality Inn
1825 Harrisburg Pike,
Carlisle, Pa. 17015
1 - (717) 245-2242

Thursday 4/23, Friday 4/24, Saturday 4/25.
2 non-smoking double rooms

This will be our second time at this Inn, it is literally right next to the Middlesex Diner,
we will be able to walk there without crossing the street.

Really looking forward to Carlisle!

Fred, your assumin' looks good to me at this point in time. I have a few balls in the air for April that could cause me to cancel this year. I won't know until close to Carlisle time.

When I reviewed the confirmation email from Quality Inn, I realized that it was only for one room.
I called this morning to acquire another room. Done. The cost is 173.31 per room per night.
Since this is 10% more than last year, I asked if additional discounts were available.
Sadly, not on show weekends.
Also, I received a gentle warning that they are filling up,
so if your planning to stay there I'd recommend you make your reservations soon.

We need to watch this may get cancelled due to corona virus. State of PA could ban events like this with large groups of people.

Spring Carlisle has been rescheduled to May 27th to May 31st.

I will reschedule for the new dates, arriving Thursday and leaving Sunday.

I will call the Inn on Monday and I will post the results. Grins!

For me, I'd rather go in the Fall. I have a different trip (if it's not cancelled for the same reasons) two weeks before this date, and another long trip only a week after. This is assuming that things are functioning as normal by then.

Will check with family. Kurt could make this time. Higher likelihood of good weather. Fall Carlisle clashes with ChampCar event at Pitt Race.

If you decide to book the fall one I'm tentative until I understand if the Vette will be ready to race.

I can't make the new dates. It's our wedding anniversary and we have made other plans.

Re: Spring Carlisle 2020 Now FALL Carlisle?!

Post by Fred32v »

I'm not really confident that the Spring won't be moved again or cancelled, Pa is shutdown like Ohio.

The Fall Carlisle will allow more time to take care of the virus situation,
so Monday I will cancel my current reservations and schedule the Fall event.

The Fall Event is Sept 30th thru Oct 4th. I plan to be there on Thursday and leaving Saturday.

Hey WXO, what do you think?

We are (tentatively) supposed to be going to Florida and driving my dad's new-to-him BMW Z4 from May 16 through Memorial Day. Revised Carlisle dates would be the following weekend. Not sure I'll want to jump back into a car so soon. But if that trip gets rescheduled, I'd likely be at Carlisle.
