Carlisle 07

Post by MostMint »

I would like to go to Corvettes at Carlisle for 07. I think it will be August. I want to find out if there is enough support to move from the spring event.

Of course I would take the Vette, so I also need someone to bring a car with which to carry any parts that would not fit in the Vette.

I could handle going to the Corvette event. The '63 is road-ready.

Corvettes at Carlisle Dates

Post by Fred32v »

It's not too early to think about Carlisle in 2007. There seems to be some agreement that
"Corvettes at Carlisle" might be fun and at an acceptable time. So, set aside August 24th - 26th
on your calendar. If I get some interest I'll book us some rooms. When will you be there?
I think I'll probably be there sometime Thursday so I can start out Friday AM and plan to return
home Sunday after breakfast unless there would be a really good reason to return to the meet
for something special. No matter what I would return home Sunday.

I'll represent the C5 crowd. Hope nobody buys the Vette before then. I may have the longest running ad ever on Cars.com.

I seem to recall Andy talking about buying your vette at the last Carlisle outing.

Corvette Sale?

Post by Fred32v »

Maybe we should look for a "For Sale" ad in the "Wanted/For Sale" section with some pictures
and an asking price to start the horse tradin'.
Hey Matt, love your Z06 Impalavette! :D

Walt,

I don't want to pry but why is it for sale?
Clutchietis?
Would you replace it with an automatic vette? convertible maybe?

I'm sitting on the fence here, Matt. I still enjoy the Vette as much as I ever did, but I'm not using it very much any more. It's just sitting there under a cover in my garage and I'm paying the mortgage on it. On the other hand, it wouldn't bother me at all if it doesn't sell, so I'm not what you'd call a motivated seller. It is listed on cars.com with a long term listing right now.
If I can get something close to my asking price I guess I'll take it, but I'm not going to take a low ball offer.
It's in great condition with 61k miles and most options. It has no mechanical problems at all.

Did he mention it was fast?

I am on the fence about making an offer for an array of reasons, none of which have to do with the condition of the car.

Now It Starts, Ready or not!

Post by Fred32v »

Hi Gang,
With Corvette Carlisle 2007 less than eight months away, it's time to get a little serious. Howard Johnson and nine other hotels were booked solid. This must be a huge meet. After a desperate search, I was able to secure two smoking rooms at the SUPER 8. We have two rooms for Thursday 08/23/07, Friday, and Saturday at a cost of $129/night. I am currently planning to be there Thursday evening. Right now I'm thinking we might need the second room Thursday night. Cancellation policy is one week in advance, SO, first I’ll need to know IF you will be going and second, will you be arriving Thursday. I expect that all decisions will be firmed up and committed to by the end of the first week in August.
If you're in, please let me know. Monday 8/13/07 l’ll be sending the confirmation info, motel info, cell phone numbers, etc..
See You There!!

So when is everyone showing up? I'm planning to leave Thursday after work sometime, putting me there sometime in the 11pm hour, so I'll be ready for Friday's shopping.
This is only a Fri, Sat, Sun meet...
