Fred32v decided to bail on a Craftsman weed eater he had because he couldn't make it run.
He gave it to me. I took it because I thought I could make it run, and sell it. I got it running (only
on 1/4 choke!) real well. Because it only runs on choke, and a carb is $30.00 for it (the used
weedeater is only worth $30.00!) I didn't know what to do with it. I had nobody to give it to, and
I need 2 weedeaters like eskimos need ice, I decided to try to make it into a drive/sidewalk edger,
because I hate doing that job with a string trimmer...it wastes time and tons of string. So, with a
bit of "Grandpa Cossick" engineering, a couple of washers, spacers, some used circular saw
blades donated by GFAmy (slang term for Girl Friend Amy), and about 45 minutes I had a working
drive edger... Surprisingly, it worked sweet on the first try! I edged all of my walks and drive in less
than 10 minutes! Here's some pics of the beast!

You might want to consider a little more serious deflector shield. Just a thought before you decapitate your dog...

Put on a hockey mask and go edge your driveway on Halloween with that thing.
Re: Home-Made Gas Drive Edger
Great idea, Smoker!!! I'm gonna' run around the yard on Halloween
revving it up and scaring people with it in my yard!!

put a 7 1/4 in circular saw blade in there and you got a tree branch trimmer. Just make sure the teeth face the right way or a good story might unfold.
An extension handle could be fabbed for those hard to reach spots
Multi tool FTW

I'm running a 7 1/4" blade in there right now.... it's spinning the
opposite way it would when it's cutting wood, so it's more aggressive
than the normal way it should spin.....there's no way I'd try and cut
anything but dirt with it, it's quite a handful, but is soooooo cool!!!
