With no research of comparable cars my first thought was $1800. When I looked at the pictures I thought maybe up to $2500.

This car has 140,000 miles and they made a million of these so there is no collector value I can see.

I'd look at the comparable cars on craigslist.

Looks like a nice straight, rust-free body with front valence and cowl damage. Both should be pretty easy fixes. Very nice interior. If the engine is original and good, tires are serviceable, and title is there, I think he's in the right price range. Said "OBO", so $2500 seems like a good offer.

When I was looking for a donor to get EFI for the Maverick, the '87-'92 Mustang was the first choice. That computer is the one everyone was recommending for hot rodding. It would have the E7 heads that are a substantial improvement over the '86 and earlier.

Only thing that didn't sound right was the sub-frame connectors as a fix for the trans. Think the syncros are a common problem with the T5s. I'd expect to rebuild/replace the transmission sometime.

I like the car. 8)

I'm kinda looking for a toy to tinker with that I shouldn't loose a lot of money on. I really would like it to run and drive. If I decide to sell it I would really like to at least break even. I also prefer a manual transmission.

That 5.0 is a $2500 car with potential to be $4000 pretty easy. The Firebird is a $3500 car on a good day here.

The 5.0 would be more fun IMO, but I'd loose the hood... yuck.

I like the way the Firebird looks better.

my feelings exactly. I think I am going to low ball these guys and see what happens. First the formula 350 then the 5.0

I have decided to wait until I sell the 2 S-10's I currently have. Then I'll get a toy.

That's smart thinking. There will always be toys to be had...

When will you be in town? We need to get you to the dragstrip, if even in the Avalanche.

I will be in roughly from the 30th to the 9th (give or take). The Avy has 130k miles on it. It ain't going to the strip.
