Let's see what she's got.
Maverick and I took a short trip to RPM Motorsports in Raleigh. I had an appointment for 3 dyno pulls just to get some baseline information.

The place was filled with serious racecars and hotrods like this 2010 Camaro.

My lil ol' stocker Camaro seemed out of place.

Here's video of the last run:

And here's a graph showing the first two pulls hot off the street. Both show 310 hp. Better than I expected. After cooling off for about 15 minutes, we got 317 rwh and 336 ft lbs.

Really good numbers. GMJohnny's was 275 stock and about 315 after the tune.
Equal and actually exceeding Mark H's dyno numbers that he got at Carlisle and his vette was tuned.

So either the previous owner had done something or WXO is not coming clean. Anyway, I'm impressed.

I'm impressed also, Fred. My 2000 C5 recorded 294 hp stock which is in line with the advertised 350 hp. I doubt that the previous owner had this car tuned, but you never know.
The only thing I did was buy a used SLP air box which came with a K&N filter. Along with installing that, I cut a bigger opening in the plastic under the air box. This is know as "free ram air" in the Z/28 culture online.
The tuner stated that the fuel ratios looked real good on his readout and there really wasn't much room for improvement as it sits now. He recommended long tube headers and upgraded exhaust as a best next step. He said that I could expect between 20 and 30 hp boost with headers and a tune. I calculate that to be in the neighborhood of $50 per hp.
BUT, right now, the best performance enhancement is to build up the track skills of the driver. I will be looking for chances to get to the strip and figure out how to launch this thing for some better numbers.
In the short term, I plan to figure out which 17 inch tires I'm going to buy for it. I'm bummed that I missed my chance to get the Firestones. The tires on it now have quite a bit of tread left, so I can wait for a while. Maybe I can figure out how to get in a quick trip to Akron when I'm in Pittsburgh.
