Re: Nelson Ledges SCCA race
Yes, Molly and I went on Saturday. There was about 60 cars, according to the guy at the gate.
It was hard to hear the announcer (we were by the last turn, 13 ? I think) but he said John Heinricy was racing! This was the last group to go out which were the GT1's 2's and something else.
The track was fast as a track record was set in the Formula class 1:00:0? close to a 120mph average, I think they meant a "race" record as I think a 58:?? something is an older -qualifying lap.
Another record was set in GT1. The top guy was turning 1:02's to 1:03's in his new Vette. The GT cars were great. The Formula cars were amazingly fast. Ive been to alot of races there but the top guys were nuts. Ive never seen so much controlled sliding out of an open wheeler on pavement. Just sick.
