1995 S-10 project

Post by ttamrettus »

I bought my brother a cheap beater truck.

1995 Sonoma Xcab
2.2 engine 5 speed
It needs the engine installed

I'm gonna try to clean it up and maybe get the motor in it. If I don't get it together before Thanksgiving I'll likely just tow it to Ohio on my visit.

Except for a little dirt, it looks real solid. I'm guessing with the motor out it was pretty cheap?

$500

It has a small dent on the bottom of the drivers door. Dude says it's a new fuel pump and a new radiator. The tires have tons of tread.

I can't help wondering why the engine is in the back and whether it runs or not. What's the story on the engine? How many miles on the drivetrain and the rest of the truck?

200k miles. The clutch looks like it's newer as does the pressure plate.

It has aUHaul hitch on it.

I think someone blew the motor and took it out, then this kid bought it, he got another motor and never got it in.

But I think I'm gonna pull the head and look at it. It's out. I'd hate to get it in and then have something else be wrong.

you could check the serial # on the engine to see if it is in fact the original

As long as it was a 2.2 that was there originally, it should be smooth sailing. AC can be a pain....
How about some under-hood pics?

I gave it to my brother. He fixed it and it sold in 3 days for $2600. Still needed a windshield & A/C fixed.

The engine was trash, needed crank etc. (spun bearings) My brother robbed (4 cyl) a rusted out S-10 and then parted the rest out.
